  1. 'Miserable 45 minutes for Hull'published at 13:30 British Summer Time 23 August

    HT: Hull City 0-1 Blackburn

    Chris Cooper
    BBC Radio Humberside

It's been a miserable 45 minutes for the most part for Hull City.

Poor defending has been the theme of this first half, Hull just haven't been at the races.

I think Blackburn will be a little disappointed they're only up by one goal. For City, the positive will be that it's only one.

  2. 'We need a new gameplan'published at 13:29 British Summer Time 23 August

    HT: Charlton 0-0 Leicester

    David Nugent
Ex-Leicester striker on BBC Radio Leicester

The most exciting part of the first half was the pigeon, the football has been pretty poor.

Charlton have a gameplan and we keep doing the same thing over and over again, we need a new gameplan and we need a bit of energy. We're trying to play this passing football and it just looks sloppy.

They've probably had the better of the half but we're still in the game.

Pigeon flies during Charlton v LeicesterImage source, PA Media

It's a toxic trait of many of us in the stands to think we could hold our own in the cut and thrust of a Championship game, well in the first half there was a pigeon at The Valley who was trying to prove it.

Ignoring the fact that pigeons can fly, the plucky pitch invader is refusing to use his gift and is walking around the grass and running out of the way of players, and the ball, when it comes close until the very last moment. Quite a coup.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 23 August

    Charlton 0-0 Leicester

    Watchable stuff at The Valley.

Leicester have enjoyed more of the ball but the Addicks are well drilled and have prevented the visitors from doing much with it in dangerous areas, a couple of 18-yard efforts off target from Jordan Ayew and Louis Page are as good as it's got.

At the other end Conor Coventry's blockbuster swerving strike from 25-yards was wonderfully tipped around the woodwork by the flying Jakub Stolarczyk in the game's brightest moment, so far...

  5. Postpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 23 August

    Charlton 0-0 Leicester

We're heading for added time in added time after an aerial collision near the Addicks box brings both sets of trainers back onto the pitch to treat Abdul Fatawu and Josh Edwards.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 23 August

    Swansea 0-1 Watford

Watford lead at the break in south Wales thanks to Nestory Irankunda's wonderful free-kick.

Work to do for Alan Sheehan in the home dressing room.

It hasn't been the best of games as Swansea started off slightly better of the two sides but Watford grew into it and probably deserve the lead.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 23 August

    Hull City 0-1 Blackburn

    Ryan HedgesImage source, Rex Features

Blackburn have the lead at the break as they look to pick up their first points of the season.

Ryan Hedges, who had gone over a year without a goal before today, put Rovers in front with a lovely dink over the advancing Ivor Pandur.

Hull had been on top prior to Hedges' goal but it's been pretty even since.

  8. INJURY TIMEpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 23 August

    Charlton 0-0 Leicester

After a couple of bumps and bruises there will be FOUR added minutes at the end of the first half.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 23 August

    Hull City 0-1 Blackburn

Blackburn midfielder Sidnei Tavares is shown a yellow card for a foul on the halfway line.

He's the first Rovers man in the book today.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 23 August

    Swansea 0-1 Watford

First booking of the game goes to Watford midfielder Hector Kyprianou for a challenge on Ethan Galbraith.

  11. Postpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 23 August

    Charlton 0-0 Leicester

Kayne Ramsay is penalised for a challenge on Jeremy Monga which gives Leicester the chance to get the ball in the box but once again they can't make anything of it.

  12. Postpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 23 August

    Hull City 0-1 Blackburn

Augustus Kargbo is involved in everything just now.

This time the Blackburn midfielder, who got the assist for his side's goal, takes a shot on himself but can't find the target.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 23 August

    Hull City 0-1 Blackburn

A second booking of the day and a second booking for a Hull City midfielder.

John Lundstram is shown a yellow card for a foul on Augustus Kargbo.

  14. 'Great save by Stolarczyk'published at 13:09 British Summer Time 23 August

    Charlton 0-0 Leicester

    David Nugent
Ex-Leicester striker on BBC Radio Leicester

He finds a bit of space for the shot and it's a great save by Stolarczyk.

It's good work from Charlton but slightly worrying for Leicester.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:08 British Summer Time 23 August

    Charlton 0-0 Leicester

Conor Coventry takes aim from 25 yards and scorches a swerving effort towards the top corner, only for Jakub Stolarczyk to fly across to his left and tip the ball around the angle of post and bar.

    Football's the winner there.

The keeper's euphoria doesn't last long, he gets a whack from the subsequent corner, he'll need some treatment.

  16. Postpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 23 August

    Charlton 0-0 Leicester

Good move from Charlton as Miles Leaburn plays a neat reverse pass through for Sonny Carey, whose inviting near-post cross is well cut-out by the sliding Luke Thomas.

One corner leads to another but ref Dean Whitestone spots an infringement in the mixer and blows his whistle.

By the by, is there a better Flintstones name than Dean Whitestone? Surely a teacher at Bedrock High in another life?

  17. goal

GOAL: Swansea 0-1 Watfordpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 23 August

    Nestory Irankunda (35 mins)

    It had been coming.

Watford take the lead and it's a first goal for summer signing Nestory Irankunda and what a goal it is as he curls in a free-kick in from 25-yards.

He gets it up and over the wall leaving Lawrence Vigouroux with no chance.

    Perfection.

  18. Postpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 23 August

    Swansea 0-0 Watford

The game is beginning to open up a little bit now.

Watford come close again but Swans defender Ben Cabango is there the clear one off the line from Luca Kjerrumgaard.

  19. 'Leicester missing a spark'published at 13:04 British Summer Time 23 August

    Charlton 0-0 Leicester

    Owynn Palmer-Atkin
    BBC Radio Leicester commentator

Leicester are lacking a bit of creativity in this game.

They've only had a couple of chances, they're just missing a bit of a spark.

  20. Postpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 23 August

    Charlton 0-0 Leicester

Charlton boss Nathan JonesImage source, Rex Features

Josh Edwards whips in a free-kick from the right flank which is met by the head of Kayne Ramsay at the back stick, only for his effort to fly off-target.

City defender Caleb Okoli gets a whack on the cheek in the process and takes a moment to gather his thoughts before getting back to his feet.

Plenty for Charlton boss Nathan Jones to think about.
