The fog does appear to have at least subsided a little in the past five minutes or so. We can now see what's happening far more clearly...

It's a cold night in the Potteries, clouds of breath are clearly visible out of every players' mouth each time they exhale.

Stoke fans are just starting to get a little tetchy. A few groans from the home support as Leeds build momentum with a sustained spell of control.

That fast start by the Potters already seems like it was quite a while ago now...

Brenden Aaronson fires in a powerful strike from about 20 yards for Leeds. It's on target and it's a good save by Viktor Johansson.

Leeds are certainly trying to exert more control in the past 10 minutes or so.

The Whites have had more than 70% possession and are just looking to probe in the Stoke half. Can they find a breakthrough?

A teasing ball comes forward down the Leeds right and into area. Dan James tries to get on the end of it but Stoke keeper Viktor Johansson is out of his goal quickly to claim it near the edge of the box.

Leeds are just settling into a spell of possession after a fairly frenetic opening.

Daniel Farke will be desperate for an away win after just one in their past seven on the road.

If this fog gets any worse, this evening could easily descend into farce.

For now, we're still in the realms of good humour.

Cue an amusing chant from the away corner - via the visiting fans... "We're Leeds United, we can't see a thing."

Dan James races down the right-hand side for Leeds and cuts it back across the face of goal but Stoke centre-back Ben Wilmot slides in to make a great interception to prevent Manor Solomon from getting on the end of it.

It goes just wide of the post and out for a corner and the hosts are able to deal with it.

One thing that is cutting through the fog is the noise from the Leeds away end.

They might need that strong support tonight with Stoke looking bright early on.

Stoke have come out the traps quickly here and are trying to push Leeds back.

Another cross comes in, this time from the left, but Illan Meslier is out well to claim in the Leeds goal.

A quality goalkeeper is Illan Meslier.

He is approaching 200 league games for Leeds, many of them being in the Premier League too.

Stoke create the first opening of the night and it's a good one!

The ball is fizzed across from the right by Junior Tchamadeu and Lewis Koumas fires one goalwards from about 10 yards out but it's a good stop by Leeds keeper Illan Meslier.

It is VERY foggy at the bet365 Stadium tonight.

Stoke City, in their traditional red and white kit, get us going against Leeds United who are in their changed all-navy strip.

An important clash with consequences at both the top and bottom of the Championship.

A touching tribute to George Eastham before we get under way as both sets of players and the fans join for a round of applause.

The ex-Stoke man died aged 88 five days ago.

Through a cloud of fairly thick fog, you can just about make out the two sets of players entering the field of play at the bet365 Stadium.

It's making the pre-match lights show rather more dramatic than usual.

It's the age-old footballing question.

Well tonight you can add the word 'foggy' to that list!

It has been patchy all round the country all day. Two games off - at Tranmere and Oldham - but fog is really starting to envelop the ground here.

And it's always a great leveller. Good news for out-of-form Stoke as they prepare to host a Leeds side who will go top if they win!
