Narcis Pelach makes three changes to the Stoke City side that lost 2-0 at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Lynden Gooch, Ashley Phillips and Sol Sidibe return to the starting XI in place of Michael Rose, Tatsuki Seko and Eric Bocat, who all drop to the bench.

Million Manhoef, Jordan Thompson, Enda Stevens and Ben Pearson are all out with injury.

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke makes just the one change from their 4-0 win at home to Oxford last time out.

Pascal Struijk comes back into the side in place of Ao Tanaka, who is among the subs.

Burnley’s 2-0 win at leaders Sheffield United earlier today means Leeds have the chance to go top of the Championship if they can win against Stoke, thanks to their superior goal difference.

What a wonderful late Christmas gift that would be for the Whites, who come into this off the back of six wins in their past eight, including a resounding 4-0 victory over Oxford last time out.

If there is one very minor cause for concern for Daniel Farke, it will be his side's away form.

Leeds have won just one of their previous seven away games (D4 L2) and have tasted victory only three times on the road so far this season (D5 L2).

Farke's team have been in fine goalscoring fettle though, with their overall tally of 41 the joint-highest in the division with Middlesbrough.

A few more tonight could prove mightily important.

Stoke City have been slipping down the Championship table for about a month-and-a-half now.

The Potters have lost four of their past five, including a 2-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday five days ago - and are without a win in their past eight games (D4 L4).

Narcis Pelach’s side sit in 19th position, just three points above the drop zone and have very much been dragged into a relegation scrap.

Stoke have fared quite well in this particular fixture, winning three of their four most recent home games against Leeds, while Boxing Day has also treated them kindly with just one defeat in their past eight on 26 December (W4 D3).

"We have to win more duels in the middle of the pitch, which we have lost a lot of in recent games," Pelach told BBC Radio Stoke before this game. "Not just duels but second balls as well."

They will certainly need to be at it to come away with something tonight.

Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl said his side's comeback from 3-0 behind at Middlesbrough was "outstanding".

"How we came back was so strong," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"The mentality, the belief was there, the trust. We made some points at half-time, we changed the shape to 4-1-4-1, it was very helpful, we controlled the midfield more, the players who came on helped us.

"But we should also recognise the first half. In the end, we are happy to come back. It's not normal against a strong Middlesbrough, who play a fast, attacking style."

Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough head coach Michael Carrick spoke to BBC Radio Tees about how the game unravelled for them as they settled for a draw with Sheffield Wednesday after being 3-0 up at half-time.

"There were so many good things in the first half to be in a position like we were in and be in a commanding position going into the second half," he said.

"To let the game unravel and get away from us that quickly, it can't happen. It's pretty obvious to say that, but it can't happen.

"It went so quickly and we made some bad decisions, didn't react to it too well and then a couple of deflections and they score the goals, but it can't happen."

Luton Town

Luton Town manager Rob Edwards thinks his side deserved a draw in their 1-0 lost at Bristol City earlier today.

"The game today was a typical example, especially in the Championship, of a real game off fine margins," he told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"There was nothing in it, they stuck one in the top corner from 20-odd yards on the angle and we weren't quiet able to capitalise on a couple of chances that we did create and we end up losing.

"I think a draw would have been a fair result, I think if you look at it with your eyes and all the data it was just such an even game.

"We did create two really good chances - Carlton's header and Cauley's one as well late on, but there was nothing in it today."

Bristol City

Bristol City head coach Liam Manning spoke of hard work and aggression when talking to told BBC Radio Bristol about the win against Luton, but he reserved special praise for Scott Twine and the thunderous goal that sealed victory.

"It wasn't an easy game, understandably, they're difficult to play against, extremely physical, and I thought we stood up to that really well," Manning said.

"Ultimately we win the game off that aggression, but then also a moment of real high quality, it was a fantastic goal.

"We know what he (Scott Twine) can do, I have so much belief in him, I know he can do that at this level and we've been unfortunate not to be able to pick him at times due to the injuries and then he was sick.

"Hopefully he can get his season going now, in the last few games he's managed to pick up a few goals and long may it continue."

Well what a Boxing Day feast of goals and drama we have seen in the past four-and-a-half hours... you couldn't ask for more, could you? You could?

Delighted Derby boss Paul Warne told Sky Sports: "The lads have done really well. In the first half we created some good chances, though to be fair West Brom hit the post, they are a good team.

"We had some tired legs out there. We managed to be resolute enough to get the win. I'm really pleased for the lads.

"The other night (at Luton) we conceded from a late free-kick like that and I was a bit panicky it was going to be that again. A couple of set-pieces late on they threw their bodies in the way. There's a real pride.

"To win at home on Boxing Day infront of a full house is pretty good."

Back-to-back home wins for Derby County who give themselves a handy cushion over the basement battle. Jerry Yates fired in an angled opener before Mason Holgate deflected Kayden Jackson's strike in for the second.

West Brom have lost their manager and lost ground on the play-off pack in the space of two days. They hit the post twice from distance before Grady Diangana gave them hope with a late header, but in truth they left themselves too much to do too late...
