Unai Emery has used the squad intelligently tonight.

His side were in total control of the game and there was very little for goalkeeper Emi Martinez to do. Jhon Duran had very little involvement for the most part but I did wonder when Ollie Watkins started to warm up if he was going to do something? The increased in jeopardy made him do just that and he got the second goal.

Everything in the garden at Villa is looking very rosy. John McGinn got his goal and got valuable minutes in the legs so very good all round.

Jhon Duran didn't really get much of a sniff today but he showed that he is a goalscorer, a poacher, someone that is ready whenever the opportunity comes.

It was comfortable for Aston Villa in the end. Once they took the lead the confidence around Villa Park was evident and the belief ebbed out of Bologna.

Arsenal were pushed all the way.

Shakhtar Donetsk surprised me, they got confidence from Arsenal not taking their chances. The save from David Raya at the end was a brilliant save.

In attack Arsenal had numerous chances to put this game to bed. It is a good response from the defeat at the weekend, but it has come with a cost as Riccardo Calafiori hobbled off.

In terms of the Champions League Arsenal are in a pretty good position.

What drama!

PSG thought they had a penalty right at the end but it was overturned after the ref took a trip to the screen.

That's just two goals and four points from three games for the hosts.

Perfect night for Villa. A clean sheet, two good goals, Jhon Duran starts and scores, Ian Maatsen came into the side and played really well. There was no failure in the side tonight.

We felt the vibe in the stadium before the game and the good feeling continues. Bologna offered a bit of threat in the first half but you felt that the Villa goals took the stuffing out of them and Villa ran out deserved winners in the end.

The goalkeeper did very, very well there. That would have been the simplest of tap ins for Ollie Watkins.

They've missed a penalty, and had a goal controversially ruled out, but Stuttgart finally have their winner at Juventus.

A great touch from El Bilal Toure helps him beat his defender before he fires his side in front in the 92nd minute.

Shakhtar are throwing everything at this now.

A lovely delivery comes into the box but Marlon Gomes can't get any direction or power on his header.
