Heading into the final 15 minutes and Bologna are pushing forward more. They want a goal to set up an interesting finale. Unfortunately for the visitors, their finishing has still been pretty poor.

Seeing it on the monitor it does hit Valerii Bondar's right arm.

It is a wicked ball in from Merino and Trossard was trying to attack the near post. You could say it's harsh, but it's the positioning of the arm.

Leandro Trossard tries to go down the middle and Dmytro Riznyk saves it with his right boot.

A real lack of conviction. Shakhtar Donetsk are still in this and they shouldn't be.

  5. MISSED PENALTYpublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 22 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Saved by the legs of Dmytro Riznyk! Leandro Trossard goes low to the goalkeeper's left and it's kept out by his feet.

Is he off his line? No!

    No goal. We go on.

The referee has a good look at the monitor and awards the penalty!

Valerii Bondar's arm is deemed to be in an unnatural position and Benoit Bastien points to the spot. Replays show that it does in fact touch his arm.

Leandro Trossard stands over the ball.

    Hang on what's happening here?

Arsenal win a corner and the video assistant referee has been sent to the monitor to have a look at a potential handball. That feels harsh at first glance.

  8. Postpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 22 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Arsenal have had 11 shots with three on target. Shakhtar have managed three shots but failed to get any of them on target.

Their tally of one shot on target across their three Champions League matches this season remains.

Aston Villa fans are singing loudly now and just enjoying the moment as their side heads towards a third win from three in the Champions League. It is a position they could have only dreamed about a couple of years ago.

Saka's absence on the right wing is so clear tonight, his pace & timing is world-class. Arsenal are a better team when he's fit as he's able to make things happen.

This is a real concern for Arsenal. All the talk of the big game at the weekend.

The way Riccardo Calafiori goes down, it looks like he opened his right knee. This is a major blow.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 22 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Riccardo Calafiori is going to have to come off. He attempted to continue but he's in some bother and 18-year-old midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly is going to replace him.

It'll never happen, but I'd like to see Morgan Rogers in the next England team in place of Jude Bellingham.

Aston Villa's Jhon Duran celebrates scoringImage source, PA Media

Jhon Duran's last action is to score as Ollie Watkins was already stripped and waiting to replace him.

It was a neat finish but Bologna were stretched and defender Jhon Lucumi was too weak.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:26 British Summer Time 22 October

    Aston Villa 2-0 Bologna

And that is it for Jhon Duran. He is replaced by Ollie Watkins and Duran doesn't look happy at having to go off.

Jacob Ramsey is also on for Leon Bailey.

  16. 'A pure goalscorer's goal from Duran'published at 21:26 British Summer Time 22 October

    Aston Villa 2-0 Bologna

    Ally McCoist
Former Rangers striker on TNT Sports

That is a pure goalscorer's goal from Jhon Duran, absolutely excellent. He does so well to get in front of the defender when the cross comes in, shows great strength to hold off Jhon Lucumi, and gets a strong enough touch on it to direct it into the corner.

  17. Postpublished at 21:26 British Summer Time 22 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

    Alex Howell
BBC football news reporter at the Emirates Stadium

It's a very clear plan for Shakhtar for the last part of this match. They have three very quick forwards on and are trying to get the ball forward quickly whenever they can.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:25 British Summer Time 22 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Raheem Sterling is coming on for Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian has had his chances this evening but not put them away.

It looks like Riccardo Calafiori is going to continue.

  19. 'Doesn't look good for Calafiori'published at 21:24 British Summer Time 22 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I'm not a medical expert but that doesn't look good for Riccardo Calafiori.

His right knee, he is put off balance and slips. Then it's awkward the way he goes down. He tweaks his right knee.

  20. Postpublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 22 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

It's all a bit sloppy from Arsenal.

Riccardo Calafiori is caught on the ball 20-yards out but the Shakhtar counter is slow and they fail to take advantage.

It looks like the Italian may have done some damage in the process of having his pocket picked and he requires some treatment.
