    Luton 0-0 Sunderland

Darude's Sandstorm blares out at the Kenny as the Sunderland players head out after keeping their hosts waiting on the pitch for several minutes...

I can't help but wonder if Sunderland might have weathered the Luton storm, though. The Hatters gave that first half everything they had, yet have nothing to show for it.

Sunderland have plenty of options on the bench for Regis Le Bris to call on too. Could this be an epic rope-a-dope?

    Hull City 1-0 Burnley

    Luca KoleoshoImage source, Getty Images

Back under way and Burnley have got to produce a whole lot more than that first half if they want to be top of the table come full-time tonight.

The piles of statistics we get thrown these days tells us Burnley have been in the attacking third more than Hull City, had more possession than Hull City, had more shots on target than Hull City and forced the Hull City goalkeeper into more saves.

You know what's coming next - the statistics also tell us Hull City are winning

    1-0...

  3. Postpublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 23 October

    Millwall 1-0 Plymouth

George Honeyman has an early effort in the second-half for Millwall which goes behind via a defender for a corner - have Plymouth got a second-half comeback in them?

  4. Postpublished at 20:51 British Summer Time 23 October

    Blackburn 0-0 West Brom

West Brom straight on the attack after the break at Ewood Park, but the Rovers defence are alive to a low cross from Grady Diangana and scramble away.

Back under way in the 19:45 BST kick-offs... plenty at stake at both ends of the table.

What drama awaits us? Let's see...

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 23 October

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Sheff Utd

Really entertaining stuff for the most part on Teeside, but goalless at the interval.

Luke Ayling's incredible block denied Blades forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi's shot on the goalline while Michael Cooper's double save at the other end from Ben Doak and Tommy Conway ensured the hosts had nothing to show for their improvement in the half-hour before the break.

  7. Postpublished at 20:44 British Summer Time 23 October

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Sheff Utd

Liverpool loanee Ben Doak's run ends under pressure from Blades full-back Sam McCallum with the ball rolling to Boro midfielder Aidan Morris 20 yards out.

But he can only float a rather tame effort high and wide of Michael Cooper's goal.

  8. 'Sunderland have had the better chances'published at 20:40 British Summer Time 23 October

    Luton 0-0 Sunderland

    Gary Bennett
Ex-Sunderland defender on BBC Radio Newcastle

Sunderland have stood up to Luton in this first half and been brave in defending set pieces.

Luton have tried to bully Sunderland but Sunderland have had the better chances so far.

Still 10 minutes or so remaining of the first half at the Riverside where there is a little calm after the storm of action, with both sides enjoying good spells so far, without anything to show for it.

Boro have grown into the half and enjoyed the majority of the possession and penned back their visitors, but Michael Cooper has been equal to everything thrown at him so far.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 23 October

    Luton 0-0 Sunderland

Luton v Sunderland match actionImage source, Rex Features

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris will be absolutely delighted to have got to half-time goalless.

Luton have huffed and puffed but the Black Cats house is intact - as is their place at the top of the table, as things stand.

Carlton Morris has come close with a couple of efforts and saw a header deflected onto the crossbar while he really should have broken the deadlock seconds before the break - wrongly seeing a goal disallowed for offside.

Boos ring around Kenilworth Road, but they are not for the players, the hosts have been excellent.

Dan Neil's first-minute rasping shot saved by Thomas Kaminski seems a lifetime ago.

  11. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 23 October

    Luton 0-0 Sunderland

Carlton Morris has seen a goal chalked off for Luton... and it really should have stood.

He peels away to the back post to meet an Alfie Doughty corner which was flicked onto the far post.

He sweeps into the net only to turn and see the flag go up.

No VAR in the Championship, remember... if there was they would have seen he was at least a yard and a half onside.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 23 October

    Hull City 1-0 Burnley

That's a really good first-half from the home side and a deserved lead at the break.

Xavier Simons got the goal just as we were about to enter first-half stoppage time, latching onto an Abu Kamara pass to fire a deflected shot past James Trafford.

The visiting goalkeeper had earlier been forced into tipping away a Mohamed Belloumi curler while Simons and Regan Slater have had shots blocked.

Burnley have struggled to create anything worthwhile with Jaidon Anthony's shot from the edge of the area tipped around the post by Ivor Pandur.

At the moment the visiting fans can have no complaints.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 23 October

    Blackburn 0-0 West Brom

Blackburn v West Brom match actionImage source, Rex Features

Goalless at the break, though it's not what you think... both sides have had openings.

Blackburn came closest through Joe Rankin-Costello with a couple of efforts narrowly past the post while Torbjorn Heggem shaved the upright for the visitors.

Blackburn have 45 minutes to seek a sixth home win a row, while Albion are seeking their first in five games.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 23 October

    Millwall 1-0 Plymouth

Romain Esse's third league goal of the season has the Londoners ahead.

It was Esse who started and finished the move on 13 minutes - exchanging passes with George Honeyman before slotting home.

Ryan Hardie's header straight at Lukas Jensen is the closest Plymouth have come to an equaliser with further efforts from Morgan Whittaker and Callum Wright blocked.

Femi Azeez has also seen a header saved for Millwall.

At the moment it's looking like being another fruitless trip to the capital for Plymouth.

  15. 'Luton need that touch of quality'published at 20:33 British Summer Time 23 October

    Luton 0-0 Sunderland

    Simon Oxley
Luton commentator on BBC Three Counties Radio

Sunderland have coped with the aerial threat so far - only just.

I don't know how long they can keep going, it must be so tiring to keep defending.

Luton just need that touch of quality now.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:31 British Summer Time 23 October

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Sheff Utd

Blades keeper Michael Cooper produces a timely double-save, getting down to his right to block Ben Doak's fierce effort and then seeing the rebound hit Tommy Conway in the six-yard box and bounce back towards goal before diverting it wide with his legs.

    Good spell from Boro.

  17. goal

GOAL: Hull City 1-0 Burnleypublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 23 October

    Xavier Simons (45 mins)

    At last...

Abu Kamara (told you he was playing well) lays the ball into the path of Xavier Simons and his deflected effort beats James Trafford.

It's a deserved lead for the home side.

  18. CLOSE!published at 20:29 British Summer Time 23 October

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Sheff Utd

How has that not gone in? Luke Ayling that is an incredible block on the line.

Jesuran Rak-Sakyi shows lightning feet to work space for a powerful shot on the right, he beats keeper Seny Dieng but from nowhere Ayling slides in and gets his left foot to the ball right on the whitewash to hack clear.

Buoyed by that, Boro break straight down the other end and Riley McGree draws a low save from Michael Cooper from 20 yards.

    Breathless stuff.

  19. Postpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 23 October

    Millwall 1-0 Plymouth

Plymouth finally putting a bit of pressure on Millwall but efforts from Morgan Whittaker and Callum Wright are both blocked but it's better from the vistors.

  20. Postpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 23 October

    Hull City 0-0 Burnley

A good run by Burnley's Luca Koleosho gets him into the home side's box but his finish is straight at Ivor Pandur - still goalless.
