Carlos Corberan has made two changes to the Albion side which was held to a dramatic draw at Oxford.

Paddy McNair comes in for Kyle Bartley, who misses out, with Jayson Molumby recalled in place of Uros Racic who drops to the bench.

Darnell Furlong captains the side for the first time.

Millwall manager Neil Harris makes two changes from the side which started the weekend draw with Derby.

Leading scorer Duncan Watmore is out of the matchday squad altogether and Macauley Langstaff has to settle for a place on the bench.

Femi Azeez gets a starting berth as does Saturday's goalscorer Mihailo Ivanovic.

Striker Aidomo Emakhu is back from suspension and is among the substitutes.

Plymouth are without their leading scorer, Ibrahim Cissoko for the game in London as he's suspended following the red card he was shown in Saturday's loss at Cardiff.

Ryan Hardie comes in for the striker while there are two other changes made by Wayne Rooney with Michael Obafemi and Rami Al Hajj dropping to the bench and Mustapha Bundu and Callum Wright coming into the side.

Plenty of talk of managers facing their old teams today, with Jose Mourinho preparing to face Man United in the Europa League while Chris Wilder takes Sheffield United back to his old club, Middlesbrough.

We want to know your favourite memories of managers returning to their old stomping grounds, whether they ended in revenge or simply just getting into the wrong dugout before kick-off.

  4. Boro and Blades seeking to bounce backpublished at 19:34 British Summer Time 23 October

Chris Wilder returns to the Riverside, having been sacked by Boro in October 2022

Big one, this. Two huge clubs trying to get back on track in the promotion race.

Sheffield United lost their unbeaten record as they were rather outclassed at Leeds on Friday night while Boro were the architects of their own downfall with some calamitous defending and wasteful finishing as they lost by the same 2-0 scoreline at home to Bristol City on Saturday.

Only Swansea have scored fewer than Boro’s 10 goals in their opening 10 games in the division.

Michael Carrick’s side had, however, won two and drawn the other two at the Riverside before that defeat while the Blades had also taken eight points on their travels – keeping six clean sheets in succession before arriving at Elland Road.

There are probably plenty of other places they’d rather try to bounce back… United haven’t won at Boro since October 1997, with the hosts winning five of the seven matches since then.

In all Chris Wilder’s side have lost six of the last 10 encounters against club who sacked him two years ago this month after just 11 months at the helm.

How he’d love to exact some revenge tonight, and possibly even take the Blades level on points at the top of the table.

  5. Tigers aiming to steal Parker's thunderpublished at 19:31 British Summer Time 23 October

Hull City v Burnley (19:45 BST)

Burnley manager Scott Parker waves to supportersImage source, Rex Features

Hull City's recent roar of three wins from four games turned into a bit of a whimper on Sunday as they failed to register a single shot on target in going down 1-0 at home Sunderland.

So they'll want to put on a bit more of a show against another of the Championship's promotion favourites tonight.

A three match winning streak is becoming a bit of a distant memory and with the third worst home record in the division Tim Walter needs his side to start looking more of a threat than the toothless performance they put in at the weekend.

Burnley went top of the Championship on Saturday and promptly lost the lead on Sunday with that Sunderland victory at the MKM Stadium.

Scott Parker's side have the joint best away record in the league alongside West Brom and since losing at Sunderland in late August have won four and drawn three of their subsequent seven games.

Burnley also seem to enjoy a midweek match - they're unbeaten in their last 20 under the lights with 10 wins and 10 draws.

Wilson Isidor's winner at Hull ensured Sunderland lead a titanic promotion race

Kwadwo Baah’s consolation for Watford at Elland Road last night means Sunderland remain top of the table as they head to Luton tonight.

Wilson Isidor’s controversial winner at Hull on Sunday took Regis Le Bris’ men to the summit, having lost their two previous away games at Plymouth and down the road at Watford, despite Isidor's return in front of goal.

This fixture will likely bring back some painful memories for the Black Cats as they saw a 2-1 first-leg advantage overturned in a 2-0 loss at Kenilworth Road in the Championship play-off semi-final in May 2023, with the Hatters going on to earn promotion to the Premier League.

After a rocky start back to life in the second tier, taking one point from their opening four matches, Town look to have turned a corner with 10 more from their next six fixtures, including Saturday’s thumping derby win over Watford which made it three games unbeaten at home.

They remain 18th, just two points off the drop-zone, but are unbeaten in four at home against Sunderland, who haven’t won in Bedfordshire since 2007.

Luton have also never lost a midweek match under Rob Edwards, taking 13 points from seven floodlit games, while the past four regular season meetings between the sides have ended 1-1.

Would another draw suit either team tonight?

  7. Rovers aiming for six of the best against Baggiespublished at 19:26 British Summer Time 23 October

Blackburn v West Brom (19:45 BST)

Championship promotion challengers beware… the last time Blackburn began a season as well as this at Ewood Park, they went on to win the Premier League.

Rovers and West Brom sit level on points in fifth and sixth with Albion just one ahead on goal difference ahead of their trip to Lancashire this evening.

John Eustace’s side are looking to make it six wins from six in front of their own fans and haven’t conceded in the last 316 minutes of them, dating back to August.

The Baggies began with three straight wins on their travels to top the pile, but have taken only one point from their last two on the road after late drama at Sheffield Wednesday and then again in a draw at Oxford on Saturday.

Rovers have only taken two points from their past six midweek games and though they lost under the lights against Middlesbrough earlier this month, Albion were unbeaten in their previous 10 midweek games, winning eight of those.

Carlos Corberan will hope that is a good omen... the Baggies are without a win in four, and have never gone five winless in the two years since the Spaniard took over at the Hawthorns.

We had three changes in the leadership of the Championship at the weekend and we could have another one tonight but as we all know there's a lot of water to go under the bridge first.

With five of the top six in action this evening there could be a fair bit of movement.

  9. Pilgrims far from capital in Londonpublished at 19:22 British Summer Time 23 October

Millwall v Plymouth Argyle (19:45 BST)

It's a long way when you're travelling to London from Plymouth, it can feel even longer travelling back if you haven't won.

Plymouth have tasted victory just once on their last 11 trips to the capital and are winless in their last five.

It's not exactly made any more comfortable when you have the worst away record in the Championship this season with just the one point gathered from four road trips BUT that was at QPR in London!

Mind you, Millwall are hardly in the rudest of health themselves as they currently sit just one place and one point above the relegation zone.

Saturday's 1-1 draw with Derby had manager Neil Harris pulling his hair out and 'fed-up with talking about the same things,' as they had to rely on a late equaliser from Mihailo Ivanovic.

The Lions' only two wins this season have come at home and they have beaten Plymouth in each of their past five meetings in all competitions.

A win for either Millwall or Plymouth at The Den tonight would give them a little bit of room to manoeuvre but it's hardly a relaxing place to be in right now.

With three wins and a draw from their last four games, Cardiff have shown what a run of good form can do.

Good evening and welcome to Wednesday... keep going, you're nearly there!

With nearly a quarter of the season in the books, the Championship is proving to be livelier than ever, with the leadership of the division, and the basement spot, changing hands like a hot potato over the past five days.

Leeds missed the chance to go top in their own right on Tuesday as they beat Watford by just the one goal, but with leaders Sunderland, third-placed Burnley and Sheffield United in fourth all in action tonight, who knows what the table will look like come bedtime.

One thing's for sure, after last night when there were 10 goals scored in the opening 14 minutes across seven matches, you don't want to miss a minute of tonight's action.

There's no time to waste, let's see what we have in store, shall we?
