    Chelsea 1-0 Aston Villa

This is lively and open with chances at both ends of the pitch.

    There's more goals in this.

By the way, since the start of May only Erling Haaland (18) has scored more goals in the Premier League than Nicolas Jackson (12).

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

Marcus Rashford gets in behind the Everton defence and he's through on goal with just Jordan Pickford to beat.

He scrambles past the England number one, but Jarrad Branthwaite gets back to clear behind.

    The flag goes up anyway.

  3. Postpublished at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

    More wastefulness from the hosts.

Amad Diallo is played in down the right and he gets to the ball ahead of a rampaging Jordan Pickford, but his cross finds nobody.

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

    Emma Smith
BBC Sport at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Ange Postecoglou waves his arms in frustration as his side turn and play the ball back towards their own goal before losing it.

Spurs so far have looked a shadow of the side which beat Manchester City 4-0. They appear to be badly missing Dominic Solanke, as they simply cannot get the ball forward and keep it there.

  5. 'Watkins has got to score'published at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Chelsea 1-0 Aston Villa

    Mark Warburton
Former Nottingham Forest boss on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

What a huge chance after being under the cosh to Chelsea.

John McGinn plays a nice forward ball and Ollie Watkins gets away - he has got to score.

  6. Postpublished at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Fulham look a real threat in north London.

A ball over the top finds Raul Jimenez and he's able to chest down. It's a fairly loose touch though and he's unable to stretch and poke ahead of the advancing Fraser Forster.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Chelsea 1-0 Aston Villa

A HUGE chance for Aston Villa with Ollie Watkins free inside the box with only Robert Sanchez to beat.

Sanchez has come in for stick from some Chelsea fans but the goalkeeper stands tall and makes the save to deny Watkins.

A big moment for Villa, a big save by Sanchez.

    Chelsea 1-0 Aston Villa

    Mark Warburton
Former Nottingham Forest boss on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

The game is open and Stuart Attwell is letting the game flow - there's a good tempo to it.

  9. 'Finishing and final ball has stunk so far'published at 13:45 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The finishing and the final ball has actually stunk so far, it has been awful. Considering the standard of players out there - it hasn't been good enough.

  10. Postpublished at 13:45 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Chelsea 1-0 Aston Villa

Chelsea are playing with an air of confidence after that early goal. Jadon Sancho, who was involved in the goal, is heavily involved.

  11. Postpublished at 13:44 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

More good football, but yep, you guessed it, another poor finish.

Joshua Zirkzee opens his body and plays a lovely ball out to Amad Diallo on the right flank.

He's running into the area and attempts a first-time left-effort but scuffs it well wide.

    Beyond wasteful.

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

This has been a better start than we could have expected. It has been a really good open game with both teams going out and attacking it.

  13. That goal was all about Marc Cucurellapublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

The floppy-haired defender was aggressive when capitalising on Jaden Philogene's heavy touch and won the ball on the edge of the box, playing a one-two with Jadon Sancho before crossing to Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson's finish for his thirteenth goal of the season was sharp and accurate but the real quality in that goal was Cucurella's ability to win the ball high and then pick out his man.

Excellent from the European Championship winner who, like Jackson, has changed the conversation around his talents in recent months.

  14. Postpublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Chelsea 1-0 Aston Villa

That was Nicolas Jackson's eighth Premier League goal this season. He's been involved in 18 goals in his last 21 Premier League appearances - 13 goals and five assists.

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

    Shamoon Hafez

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim crouching down there inside his technical area ala Marcelo Bielsa - it's a pose that may become symbolic during his time at the club.

No sign of a bucket to sit on though.

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

    That's poor.

Beto holds his run well and gets his rewards then Diogo Dalot misjudges a cut-out and the ball breaks for the Everton striker.

He drives at the Man Utd defence and probably should feed in Abdoulaye Doucoure but he slices a left-footed strike well wide.

  17. Postpublished at 13:41 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

    Wasteful from Alex Iwobi.

He drives at the Tottenham defence and attracts the attention of three defenders.

That leaves Raul Jimenez with acres of space in the right channel but the attempted pass is cut out.

  18. Postpublished at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

On the break Everton look good. There are gaps when you play against a back three. The danger area is usually between the wide centre-back and the wing-back and you can tell that is the area Sean Dyche is trying to get his players to run in to.

  19. Postpublished at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

    Man Utd 0-0 Everton

It's been a pretty lively start at a sunny Old Trafford.

Beto was just snuffed out on an Everton counter-attack after Amad Diallo's long-range shot was blocked.

Jesper Lindstrom then has an effort from range for the visitors, but Andre Onana catches comfortably, despite it skipping up off the turf.

All credit to Chelsea's press, they won the ball high.

It was a great overlap from Marc Cucurella and Chelsea get their reward.

The press is proving to be so effective.
