Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

This match is a message for Middlesbrough.

They have had loads of chances today.

But you have to be clinical.

Boro have to find ways to open the door, get in better areas and finish.

    Just one of those days.

    And there you have it.

Sam Allison sounds his whistle for the final time today and it's honours even at The Hawthorns. Which is probably about right.

    Derby 1-0 Middlesbrough

It's over at Pride Park, and Derby County have held on for their first Championship win since being promoted back to the second tier.

Kayden Jackson's first-half goal on the quick break proved the difference.

Middlesbrough will wonder how they didn't take something from the game with Delano Burgzorg hitting the woodwork and having a goal disallowed.

  4. Postpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 17 August

    West Brom 0-0 Leeds

Late opportunity for Leeds as Patrick Bamford broke on the left and aimed a low cross in the general direction of Wilfried Gnonto - but it was easy for Alex Palmer in the Albion goal to gather.

Looking as though both sides have settled for a point now...

  5. INJURY TIMEpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 17 August

    Portsmouth 0-0 Luton Town

We will have six minutes of added time at Fratton Park.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 17 August

    West Brom 0-0 Leeds

And two further throws of the dice from Albion boss Carlos Corberan.

Lewis Dobbin, on loan from Aston Villa, is on the field for his West Brom debut, while Grady Diangana has also been introduced.

John Swift and Josh Maja are the players to make way.

It was almost a dream entrance for Diangana, who swung at Tom Fellows' cross but failed to make a clean connection.

The Championship is such a tough league.

You have to earn your stripes and earn your results.

Despite all the possession Middlesbrough have had today, they just haven't put any of their chances away.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 17 August

    Portsmouth 0-0 Luton Town

Portsmouth captain Marlon Pack has been down for a while, holding his head after substitute Owen Moxon appeared to catch him whilst running past.

Portsmouth fans will hope that one is not too serious as Pack is such an important player for them.

Ben Stevenson comes on to replace him.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 17 August

    West Brom 0-0 Leeds

Changes for both sides now, with Albion bringing Jed Wallace off the bench to replace Karlan Grant.

Leeds, meanwhile, have made their third substitution, with Patrick Bamford on to lead the line for the final 10 minutes or so in place of Mateo Joseph.

Can either of those new introductions make the difference?

The lack of quality has continued for both sides.

Very little happening here and very little for either goalkeeper to do this afternoon.

  13. League One and Two updatepublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 17 August

In League One, there's almost an opening goal for Charlton as Kayne Ramsay sees his shot hit the woodwork. The Addicks are putting on the pressure to try and grab the lead against Leyton Orient but so far, the O's are holding on.

Can either side snag themselves three points as the game draws to a close?

  14. Postpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 17 August

    Portsmouth 0-0 Luton

    Guy Whittingham
Former Portsmouth manager on BBC Radio Solent

I can't understand why Portsmouth's Christian Saydee didn't take the shot there.

Even if a man is behind you, that ball was for hitting.

  15. CLOSE!published at 14:10 British Summer Time 17 August

    Portsmouth 0-0 Luton Town

Portsmouth's Owen Moxon plays an impressive crossfield pass through for Sam Silvera to chase, he drives forward and pays a ball low across the penalty area for Christian Saydee to fire at goal.

Saydee steps over the ball though and it runs through for a Luton Town defender to clear.

That was there for Saydee to strike, surely!

  16. Postpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 17 August

    Derby 1-0 Middlesbrough

Both sides have turned to their benches for a number of changes with 15 minutes to go.

For Middlesbrough, Tommy Conway comes on for his debut and replaces Finn Azaz.

There is plenty of time for the striker to make a big first impression for Boro...

  17. CLOSE!published at 14:06 British Summer Time 17 August

    West Brom 0-0 Leeds

It's looking more and more likely that a set-piece will settle this game - if anything does.

West Brom went close when Josh Maja's flick-on found Kyle Bartley, but the defender couldn't direct his header on target.

Leeds responded with a free-kick of their own and Pascal Struijk's glancing header flew just wide of the far post.

Surely there's a winner in here somewhere?

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 17 August

    Portsmouth 0-0 Luton Town

Matt Ritchie and Owen Moxon are introduced to the action for Portsmouth, they replace Paddy Lane and Andre Dozzell.

The home side pushing to find that opener.

    Bromley 2-0 AFC Wimbledon

    Chris Peddy
    BBC Sport at Hayes Lane

Bromley fans chat "We are top of the league!"

Corey Whitely makes it 2-0 after a long run and good ball in from Danny Imray on the right.

Whitely takes it down and steadies himself before lashing the ball past Goodman in the Wimbledon goal to double the lead for the hosts.

Johnnie Jackson immediately reacts, sending on Callum Maycock and Joe Piggott for Omar Bugiel and Matty Stevens.

Marcus Dinanga has replaced Cameron Congreve for the hosts.

What can Wimbledon do in response?

    What a stinger!

Middlesbrough's Delano Burgzorg hit that like a rocket before it hit the woodwork.

A Derby defender got an important touch on the ball.
