  1. 'Cardiff could score five again'published at 20:15 British Summer Time 22 October

    Cardiff 2-0 Portsmouth

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

When they hammered Plymouth 5-0 on Saturday, Cardiff scored five goals in a league game for the first time since 2017.

The way they're playing against Portsmouth, the Bluebirds could be about to manage the feat twice in the space of four days.

As well as the two goals they have scored, the home side have missed a hatful of other chances and we've not even played half an hour here.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 22 October

    Preston 2-0 Norwich

Duane Holmes skips round Callum Doyle on Preston's right-hand touchline and the Norwich left-back hauls him to the ground.

Into the book Doyle goes and the resulting free-kick comes to nothing.

  3. Postpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 22 October

    Stoke 2-0 Bristol City

Goalkeeper Viktor Johansson has had a couple of busy minutes for Stoke.

Nahki Wells is first to test him, then the Swede has to be alert to keep out a fierce shot from Jason Knight at his near post.

  4. CLOSE!published at 20:12 British Summer Time 22 October

    Cardiff 2-0 Portsmouth

    Close to a third.

Anwar El Ghazi's thunderous free-kick from an angle takes a nick off a defender and is well punched clear by Nicolas Schmid.

The ball is quickly recyled to El Ghazi, however, and he stands up a cross into the middle which Callum Robinson can only glance a yard past the far post from only four yards out.

Pretty much straight from the restart the ball is worked left for El Ghazi again, his low cross is met by Ollie Tanner but he rockets a first-time shot a yard over the bar.

It's all Cardiff, just like it was on Saturday.

Omer Riza's claim to the manager's job grows ever stronger...

  5. Postpublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 22 October

    Preston 2-0 Norwich

Norwich with their first real moment of threat but it ultimately comes to nothing.

Josh Sargent collects on the edge of the box but tries to thread one through instead of shooting.

It's blocked and comes back to Emiliano Marcondes who scoops it over everyone and it runs through to Freddie Woodman.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 22 October

    QPR 0-1 Coventry

Things go from bad to worse for QPR.

Kenneth Paal hurt his leg in the build-up to Haji Wright's goal and hasn't been able to continue.

Marti Cifuentes brings Koki Saito on at full back. Barely 10 minutes in, what else can go wrong?

  7. Postpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 22 October

    Leeds 2-0 Watford

Watford string together a dozen passes for the first time, but no sooner do they do that, they concede possession in midfield and Willy Gnonto sends Joel Piroe forward.

He looks to have the beating of the last defender but a heavy touch sees the chance go begging,

He's scored in all three of his previous starts against Watford, how he'd like to continue that tun here...

  8. Postpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 22 October

    Preston 2-0 Norwich

Norwich just haven't got going at Deepdale in the first 22 minutes.

The Canaries have seen plenty of the ball but it's all been in their own half and Preston have kept them well penned in.

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:06 British Summer Time 22 October

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Swansea

Sheffield Wednesday create another opening. This time Svante Ingelsson hits a first-time effort from just inside the box with his left foot but it flashes wide.

Djeidi Gassama with some good work down the right to cross for Ingelsson in the build-up.

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:06 British Summer Time 22 October

    Cardiff 2-0 Portsmouth

You can see the confidence flowing through Cardiff.

Ollie Tanner embodies it perfectly as he tries an audacious angled strike with the outside of his right foot which flashes across goal and inches past the far post.

Absolutely no right to score from there, but when things are going like this, why not, eh?

  11. Postpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 22 October

    Stoke 2-0 Bristol City

Bristol City go looking for a quick response after going 2-0 down.

Anis Mehmeti's attempt is on target, but Michael Rose throws his body in the way of the shot and concedes the corner.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:04 British Summer Time 22 October

    Cardiff 2-0 Portsmouth

Callum Chambers goes into the book after tugging back the marauding Josh Murphy in midfield.

One for the team they call those.

The visitors have already been forced into a change with Kusini Yengi replacing Paddy Lane inside 15 minutes, with Yengi making a lively start.

  13. goal

GOAL: QPR 0-1 Coventrypublished at 20:04 British Summer Time 22 October

    Haji Wright (4 mins)

What a blistering counter-attack from the Sky Blues.

Milan van Ewijk has a header saved off the line and after a poor clearance and a square pass from Brandon Thomas-Asante, Haji Wright spins in the box and fires under Paul Nardi.

Exactly what the visitors wanted, exactly what QPR didn't need.

  14. Postpublished at 20:02 British Summer Time 22 October

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Swansea

Sheffield Wednesday's Marvin Johnson fizzes an excellent ball across the face of the six-yard box from the left but there's nobody on the end of it.

It's one of those you'd love to see someone gambling on... the corridor of uncertainty as they say.

  15. 'Decision to start Scarlett a good one!'published at 20:02 British Summer Time 22 October

    Oxford 1-0 Derby

    Dan George
BBC Sport at The Kassam Stadium

It's a gorgeous team move by Oxford United to open the scoring.

Really impressive flowing football and a well taken finish by Dane Scarlett into the bottom corner, Des Buckingham's decision to bring Scarlett in for Mark Harris a good one!

Derby now trying to get straight back into it, pressure back on straight away.

  16. goal

GOAL: Stoke 2-0 Bristol Citypublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 22 October

    Andrew Moran (14 mins)

Stoke make it two inside the first 15 minutes.

The hosts do well to win the ball high up the pitch, then opening goalscorer Lewis Koumas turns provided as his scuffed ball across goal is forced home by Andrew Moran at the back post.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 22 October

    Leeds 2-0 Watford

The first low note for Leeds and Daniel Farke as Belgian Largie Ramazani limps off inside 14 minutes, with Manor Solomon coming off the bench.

Not a bad option to have at your disposal... especially when you're already 2-0 up at home.

  18. KICK-OFF AT LOFTUS ROADpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 22 October

    QPR 0-0 Coventry

Fifteen minutes after the other six matches, we are finally under way in west London.

With Cardiff's lead over Portsmouth, both these teams start this clash in the relegation zone.

Some might call this a six-pointer...

  19. 'We just have to keep working hard'published at 19:59 British Summer Time 22 October

    QPR v Coventry (20:00 BST)

    Coventry

Coventry boss Mark Robins has also been speaking to Sky Sports:

"It is very early in the season. If I didn't think we were good enough then I'd be concerned. While it is uncomfortable in terms of the results, the performances have belied the points we have got. We just have to keep working hard and working our way into the season. There has been a lot of change again and it takes time."

On Wright and Asante starting: "They have experience and are both international footballers. They come in with that wealth of experience and ability. I'm fortunate I have four good strikers. I'm looking for a real solid performance tonight."

  20. Postpublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 22 October

Eight goals inside the opening 15 minutes. Keeping up?!
