Football is cruel, mere seconds after a quite simply baffling decision to disallow a goal for a non-existent “nudge” the ball hits the net at the other end of the pitch.

    Leicester 2-0 West Ham

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

This is absolute smash and grab from Leicester.

Facundo Buonanotte plays a fantastic cross to the left-hand side. Leicester have been looking for this all night long. They have played on the counter attack all game.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

Switches for West Ham too. Off go Vladimir Coufal, Carlos Soler and Thomas Soucek.

On come Michail Antonio, Lucas Paqueta and Emerson.

  4. 'Hermansen let off the hook'published at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

This is soft. At first glance, I wasn't sure how many West Ham players were around Mads Hermansen. The goalkeeper completely misses his punch.

It's a very quick VAR check that backs the referee. But I'm not so sure if it was given a goal, it would have been overturned.

It is a really, really soft one. He's been let off the hook.

I’ve got no skin in this at all, but you’re furious if that’s disallowed against you aren’t you?

    James, Sheffield

Ndidi has pushed Soucek into the keeper there, how on earth have the officials failed to see that?

Ruud Van Nistelrooy's celebrations said it all. A real release of tension after West Ham had been on top since Jamie Vardy's early opener.

    Bilal El Khannouss (61 mins)

Straight up the other end and Leicester double their lead!

West Ham have dominated, but find themselves two goals down. Kasey McAterr pulls the ball back for Bilal El Khannouss who, on the slide, drills one into the bottom corner.

Boom, that's football for ya. Ruud van Nistelrooy is loving this.

  9. DISALLOWED GOAL- WEST HAMpublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

    Leicester 1-0 West Ham

The ball loops up into the air right on the Leicester goal line.

Keeper Mads Hermansen shouts for it and tries to punch it clear, but he gets a nudge from Thomas Soucek and the ball deflects off the stopper and into the Leicester goal.

The referee immediately disallows it and VAR backs him up.

I mean, that doesn't sound too respectful to Leicester (with respect to Tom).

The Foxes have the lead, that's what counts, even if West Ham have done all the recent attacking. Carlos Soler has a shot blocked.

West Ham are unbelievably poor in the final third. If they had a winger who could pick a cross, and a striker who could time a run, they'd be miles better. They're really struggling and not even against a great side (with respect to Leicester).

Mohammed Kudus has an effort that deflects wickedly but Leicester keeper Mads Hermansen manages to adjust and tip it over.

West Ham take the resulting corner short but quickly give it away.

  13. 'Missed opportunity for Ipswich, more confidence for Palace'published at 21:30 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

FT: Ipswich Town 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Premier League goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Tonight was a missed opportunity for Ipswich to take three points, certainly to pick up at least a point. They had some big chances and didn't take them.

Crystal Palace on the other hand played with a lot more confidence. That late comeback against Newcastle last weekend was huge for them and that showed tonight.

  14. 'Accidental from Ndidi'published at 21:29 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

    Leicester 1-0 West Ham

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

West Ham were sure they had a penalty. The ball bounced off the ground and hit Wilfred Ndidi's hand. The VAR have had a look at it and cleared it. It was accidental from Ndidi. It would have been given in previous seasons, but not in this one.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka's attacking renaissance continues as the full-back marches down the left.

Although this time he's crowded out by about three defenders and is tackled before he can cross into the box.

It was the one moment of quality that we saw tonight in front of goal that decided it.

Both sides had chances, Dean Henderson made a brilliant save in the first half at his near post.

Jean Philippe-Mateta had two second half chances, the first opportunity, he took it.

  17. Postpublished at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

    Leicester 1-0 West Ham

West Ham fans want a penalty as the ball ricochets into Wilfred Ndidi's arm, although replays suggest it hit the boot of the Leicester man first.

Leicester counter but Jamie Vardy's cross is intercepted. Then, at the other end, Thomas Soucek wallops Mohammed Kudus' cut-back over.

    It's all happening!

  18. 'Ipswich have had better nights'published at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

FT: Ipswich Town 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Premier League goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Ipswich have definitely had better nights but they have had some big chances again. Every game they seem to play they seem to have big chances but they have not been clinical enough in front of goal.

  19. Postpublished at 21:25 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

    Leicester 1-0 West Ham

With that Ipswich loss, Leicester are four points clear of the drop as things stand. West Ham are six clear.

Mohammed Kudus heads wide for the Hammers, although is probably offside anyway.

At the other end Jamie Vardy is on, but nods wide.

  20. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:23 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

    Ipswich Town 0-1 Crystal Palace

Palace players celebrate with Mateta after his goalImage source, PA Media

Crystal Palace get the three points as they overcome a desperately poor Ipswich. The hosts had a bright spell at the end of each half, had a header from Harry Clarke excellently saved by Dean Henderson and a misjudged header from Jacob Greaves that bounced off the post, but that's about it.

Palace head back to London with a valuable three points thanks to Jean-Philippe Mateta's lovely lofted finish with only the goalkeeper to beat.
