    Wolves v Nott'm Forest (20:00 GMT)

    Wolves

Wolves have been unbeaten in three matches since Vitor Pereira became manager. His side have earned seven points in December after two wins against Leicester City and Manchester United and a draw with Tottenham.

Pereira is only the fourth manager to go unbeaten in his first three top-flight games in charge of Wolves after Andy Beattie in 1964, Ronnie Allen in 1967 and Sammy Chung in 1977.

  2. Where would a win take Forest?published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Wolves v Nott'm Forest (20:00 GMT)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are currently third in the Premier League with 37 points.

A win against Wolves will bring them level on points with second-place Arsenal.

This is the first time Forest have been in the top four of the top flight at the turn of the year since 1987-88 under Brian Clough.

Arsenal paying the price for letting go of the likes of Reiss Nelson, Iwobi and Smith-Rowe to Fulham. The depth would have helped them at this point.

Ipswich Town look like the ones who would be fighting the longest in this relegation battle.

They have a platform in front in Liam Delap, who can get them out of that pressure with some goals.

But when I look above them and see Wolves, Everton and Crystal Palace, I feel like Ipswich have too much to catch up. They could be the ones going down along with Southampton and Leicester City.

    Thanks Anon.

Personally, I don't think Arsenal can afford to let any forwards leave on loan in January.

I could see Ipswich staying up but they need to add a bit of quality. @Matthew, Boston @ 14:33 maybe a loan move for Nwaneri, as long as the injury isn't too bad. Agreed, he’s such brilliant.

Christian, Liverpool: Do you believe any of this talk that contracts and transfer speculation affect players' on-pitch performance? I think once you step onto the pitch you don't think about life off the pitch: you focus on the game.

Hi, Christian. Totally agree. I do not think for one moment Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk or Trent Alexander-Arnold are thinking about contracts and finances once they are on the pitch.

I do think, however, that all the speculation around Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid does have the potential to become a distraction and it was a concern to hear some shouts of frustration aimed at the defender yesterday, although this may have been because he was well below par and Liverpool could not put Manchester United away when many were expecting a comprehensive win.

This Nwaneri injury news is really worrying, I don’t want to see him going the same way is Wilshire. Bags of potential but could he be held back from greatness by his injury record? He’s such an exciting player and was the difference on Saturday.

@oppikk88: With Ipswich Town starting to pick up more points, what are their survival chances and also the chances of holding onto Kieran McKenna?

Morning. I think Ipswich Town will feel they have a real chance of staying up if they can continue their recent improvement.

They may not be a team of household Premier League names but they are very well coached and organised by Kieran McKenna.

Obviously, the better they do, the more eyes will be cast in the direction of a manager who is already very much admired.

This is for the future, though. For now he and Ipswich will be focusing fully on survival.

  12. Will Arsenal dip into transfer market to ease injury concerns?published at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

The good news for Arteta is that the transfer window is open. Speaking before his side's draw against Brighton, the Spaniard said he was open to adding to his squad this month.

"If there is somebody in the market that we can afford and we believe they will have a real impact on the team then we have to be open for that possibility always," said Arteta."At the moment, the focus is on what we have.

“All the players that are here, they want to focus on performing and impacting the team and if something happens there then we will assess it.”

    FT: Brighton 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal were expected to lead on from where they were in the previous couple of Premier League seasons, but they have had a blip, like Manchester City.

Liverpool have got to have a wobble at some point this season too.

So if Arsenal can keep in contact with the league leaders, who knows what can happen. I think they are still in it.

Thanks Harry. Arsenal are going to have to be pretty perfect for the rest of this season too.

Opta have updated their Premier League supercomputer and...

Liverpool have a 88.97% chance of lifting the title.

Arsenal have a 10.23% chance and Manchester City's chances are rated at just 0.39%.

As for Manchester United, their chances of relegation have dropped down to 0.07%.

They have a 0.25% of finishing the season in the top four.

I’m no Arsenal fan (can’t stand them in fact) but to question Arteta is crazy imo. From where they were to where they are now shows a massive improvement. I think this season Arsenal have been chasing absolute perfection (as a lesson learned from the last two seasons) but we all know nothing and no one is perfect, and that’s effected their performances and season.

Much has been made of Arsenal's 'reliance' on set pieces.

No club in Europe's top five leagues has scored more from set pieces this season, with the Gunners netting nine times from corners alone in the Premier League.

But while that's a significant string to the Gunners' bow, their creativity in open play is of increasing concern.

The Gunners' expected goals (xG) from open play this season is 31.09 - which puts them sixth in the table behind Tottenham, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Bournemouth.

On Saturday, Brighton's xG was 1.73 compared to Arsenal's 0.96.

Thanks Ron. If Arsenal finish second this season, it will be the ninth time they would have finished as Premier League runners-up.

They're currently the record holders on eight, one ahead of Manchester United.

Rob, Tonbridge:Re Guy from Nottingham. Arsenal were leggy and poor against Brighton who needed an interesting and unusual refereeing decision to draw level. I'm not sure how you think Arsenal have not improved their squad, being able to go toe to toe with Man City in the past 2 seasons. Also, who else do you think is going to do a better job than Arteta?

@ATBFooty: Why have Arsenal failed so spectacularly to win a Premier League title in the past 20 years?

Teams have been better than them - especially Manchester City and Liverpool, and then we had that magnificent Leicester City season.

I think there will be serious disappointment at Arsenal if they do not win the league this season because everyone can understand losing out to City in recent seasons. Jurgen Klopp’s great Liverpool side could only win one title in the face of the brilliance of Pep Guardiola’s team.

With City, in relative terms, collapsing this season, this should be Arsenal’s big chance but they have been short of their best and are now struggling to keep pace with Liverpool.

    Still time, though.
