Corrr he got hold of that! You could say he threw the Kitching sink at it...

A corner from the left is not defended well at all, Bobby Thomas flicks it on and it hits a Wednesday defender on the chest, Liam Kitching reacts well and swivels to lash it in on the bounce into the back of the net.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 18:24 Greenwich Mean Time

    Coventry 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Much better from Coventry as Victor Torp slides a pass into Ellis Simms, he gets past defender Gabriel Otegbayo and lashes in a powerful shot at the near post which Pierce Charles saves well.

    Man City 2-0 Salford

(Manchester) City work the ball to Savinho but his effort is over the bar.

  4. Postpublished at 18:24 Greenwich Mean Time

    Leeds United 0-0 Harrogate

Largie Ramazani has been Leeds' most vibrant player, with no end product so far.

He cuts in from the left but shoots over from the edge of the box, and gets jeered by the away support.

Embarrassingly predictable from Leeds. Woeful finishing and no idea how to break down a defence that has been breached many times in League 2.

Salford's best move of the match. Good play down the left, nice and patient.

    Leeds United 0-0 Harrogate

This has not been a thriller at Elland Road - and that is all down to Harrogate's hard work.

They are pressing with energy all over the pitch, refusing to allow any of Leeds' creative players any time on the ball.

And when Manor Solomon does break into the Harrogate area, his final ball is cut out with several yellow shirts in attendance.

    Man City 2-0 Salford

What a moment that would have been. Salford forward Kylian Kouassi beats about five Manchester City players and has a shot from 16 yards which is saved by Ederson.

Coventry were semi-finalists last season of course, very nearly knocking out Manchester United at Wembley. They look light year away from that at the moment and Frank Lampard needs to coax more from his team.

So the referee plays advantage, City go on to score and then comes back and books the Salford player. Quite right. So why did the ref in the Spurs vs Liverpool semi-final say he couldn't come back to book a player after playing advantage? Inconsistent nonsense.

    Toby from Charente, France.

A Spurs player the other night received no [second] yellow card as the referee waved play on and so it was deemed that he did not stop a developing attack. Exactly the same has just happened in the Man City/Salford game but the referee has gone back and booked the player as expected. Would rather officials admit a possible error than always try and justify poor decisions.

  11. Salford outclassedpublished at 18:18 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man City 2-0 Salford

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

Salford's bench used a tactical time out to try and guide their players through the solutions to the issues they have been having trying to stem Manchester City's attack.

Manager Karl Robinson offered some more instructions just before Ilkay Gundogan surged straight through the middle of Salford's midfield to the edge of the area.

The visitors managed to stem the attack but Robinson had already spun round in frustration.

Knowing what to do and actually being able to do it are two different things.

A few oles from the Salford fans as they string together a few passes.

    Leeds United 0-0 Harrogate Town

    Paul Robinson
Former Leeds United goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

That was really poor. It was that poor of a delivery from Joe Rothwell that it nearly went out for a throw-in.

Over 12 months since Grealish scored anything, surely he'll be desperate with this potential goal-scoring opportunity.

    Leeds United 0-0 Harrogate

Leeds chance wasted, as Joe Rothwell's chipped free kick flies over everyone and out for a goal kick.

There is a dissatisfied buzz going around the Elland Road stands.

  16. Postpublished at 18:16 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man City 2-0 Salford

Savinho and Jeremy Doku are both stopped around the box. Salford just try to get a few touches of the ball before going long.

  17. Postpublished at 18:16 Greenwich Mean Time

Josh March with a silly foul on Willy Gnonto just outside the Harrogate box.

    Good chance for Leeds, this...

  18. Postpublished at 18:15 Greenwich Mean Time

    Coventry 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Coventry find space for the first real time but Jay Dasilva's ball in from the left is wretched. There's been a real lack of quality so far in the west midlands.

  19. Postpublished at 18:15 Greenwich Mean Time

    Leeds United 0-0 Harrogate

Championship manager of the month Daniel Farke watches on from the Leeds technical area with his coat pulled up around his jaw against the cold.

He won't be too impressed with his side's performance so far.

  20. Postpublished at 18:14 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man City 2-0 Salford

Salford not seeing too much of the ball which isn't a surprise.
