Chance for Sunderland - their first of extra time.

It was an excellent driving run from Eliezer Mayenda to create it but Adil Aouchiche's curling effort sails high over the bar.

    More like it from Reading.

A fantastic crossfield pass finds the run of Tyler Sackey who pulls the ball back for Harvey Knibbs.

Reading's leading scorer can't get any power on his shot and it dribbles harmlessly goalwards.

    Reading 1-2 Burnley

Burnley are happy to just keep the ball and make the hosts run around. Professional approach.

An exit will be harsh on Reading who have given this a real go, but Burnley's power off the bench looks to be the difference.

I realise the main story around Salford is their well known owners - who I am sure will get a fantastic reception from the Manchester City supporters today.

However, it has to be remembered that 10 years ago they were playing in the Division One North (joint second tier) of the Northern Premier League.

Their opponents in 2014-15 included Padiham, New Mills and Kendal Town.

Today is set to be the biggest crowd Salford has ever played in front of.

Nobody gave Plymouth a chance today and I don't think they truly gave themselves a chance. The way they are celebrating now says to me they didn't really give themselves a chance but it has given them a huge, wonderful boost.

It's a story and the FA Cup is all about stories. This is a great story.

  14. 'Tea shops town not too posh for FA Cup clash'published at 17:05 Greenwich Mean Time

Leeds United v Harrogate Town (17.45 GMT)

    Andrew Barton
    BBC News, Yorkshire

"You're just a town full of tea shops" is the chant away fans sing when they visit Harrogate Town's ground.

But the League Two side are determined to defy the image when they take on Leeds United.

A gulf of almost 70 places separates the two clubs, with Town hovering around the bottom of League Two, while Leeds top the Championship.

But ahead of the first-ever competitive clash between the two Yorkshire sides, Harrogate said they would show the town was not "too posh for football".

"It's rubbish of course, we love football here," said the club's chief executive Sarah Barry.

And it seems the clash has become a talking point in the town, even in the genteel surroundings of its most famous tea shop.

Su Halliday, deputy manager at Bettys, said: "It was definitely the talk just after the draw.

"I've seen banners outside and a guy selling tickets with a half-Leeds, half-Harrogate scarf, so it's definitely doing well for the town."

There was a time when the FA Cup didn't seem to suit Pep Guardiola so well.

He won it only once in his first six seasons as Manchester City boss, although that one was a record as they hammered Watford 6-0 at Wembley.

However, City have reached the last two finals, both against Manchester United.

The won it in 2023 on their way to an historic Treble - and then were surprisingly beaten by Erik ten Hag's side last term.

Victory in this season's competition would take them level with Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham on eight. Only Arsenal and Manchester United have done better than that.

"This club has lifted the trophy seven times," says Pep Guardiola in his programme notes.

"We are proud of our record and believe me, we want to make it eight victories by the end of the season.

"Winning this trophy in 2019 and 2023 were two of the best days I have had as a manager in football."

Scott Parker makes a change up top for Burnley, replacing veteran striker Ashley Barnes with Zian Flemming.

But it's Reading who have the next effort as Lewis Wing combines with Harvey Knibbs.

The Burnley defenders back off and Wing lets fly from the edge of the box. It flies narrowly over the bar.

Man City v Salford City (17:45 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

Former West Ham FA Youth Cup winner Divin Mubama is handed his senior Manchester City debut by manager Pep Guardiola in one of nine changes to the side for the FA Cup tie with League Two Salford.

Nathan Ake and Savinho are the only players to keep their places from last week’s Premier League victory over the Hammers.

Guardiola names only two orthodox defenders, in Ake and James Simpson-Pusey. Jamie McAtee and Nico O’Reilly both make their first starts since October.

Manchester City XI: Ederson, Simpson-Pusey, Ake, Nunes, Gundogan, O’Reilly, McAtee, Doku, Grealish, Savinho, Mubama. Substitutes: Ortega, Lewis, Gvardiol, Akanji, De Bruyne, Kovacic, Bernardo Silva, Foden, Haaland.

Salford manager Karl Robinson makes two changes to his starting line-up, with veteran midfielder Matty Lund and 21-year-old on-loan striker Kylian Kouassi both included for the League Two promotion hopefuls.

Stephan Negru has returned to his parent club Oxford.

Salford City XI: Young, Shepherd, Garbutt, Tilt, Mnoga, Lund, Berkoe, Ashley, Fornah, Kouassi, Adelakun. Substitutes: Jones, Watson, Stockton, Taylor, Chester, McAlney, Malcolm, Heys, Wright.
