    Man City 4-0 Salford

Phil Foden's first ever goal came against a Karl Robinson team - Oxford in the Carabao Cup in 2018.

"His feet are to die for. His ability and his orientation of himself on the pitch is genius," said Robinson after the game.

"There is a naturalness to his game and something we have not seen for a long time. It reminded me of watching Barcelona and seeing Iniesta in those positions."

  8. goal

GOAL - Leeds 1-0 Harrogatepublished at 19:01 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

    Largie Ramazani (60 mins)

    The dam is burst.

Manor Solomon has had the Harrogate defence on toast all night, and he beats his man again down the left before standing up a cross to the edge of the six yard box.

Largie Ramazani escapes his marker, and is standing all alone when he nods into the back of the net to roars of relief from the Leeds fans.

    Leeds 0-0 Harrogate

    Harrogate's best chance!

James Daly charges down Ethan Ampadu's clearance on the edge of the box, and the ball falls to Josh March who shoots first time.

It was a lovely strike. Solomon's first touch is outstanding and it looks for all the world like it's going in the top left hand corner but clips the bar and goes harmlessly over.

Christian: I feel for Salford. However, I am also so pleased for City’s young players. There’s some way to go in this game yet, but a sense of achievement is so important for a young player’s confidence.

A few moments for Salford. Hakeeb Adelakun lashes a wild shot wide and they have a couple of crosses that cause City problems.

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

  18. Akanji for Akepublished at 18:56 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

    Man City 4-0 Salford

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

I hope for Manchester City's sake that substitution is to protect Nathan Ake - and Manuel Akanji for that matter - ahead of Tuesday's trip to Brentford and not injury related.

Pep Guardiola is already making moves to strengthen his squad this month and City have had a £33.6m bid accepted by French club Lens for central defender Abdukodir Khusanov.

But he will hope 2025 doesn't bring the same injury issues he has had to deal with over the first half of the season.

Harrogate want a penalty as Jack Muldoon plays the ball into the thigh of Pascal Struijk, which then travels into his arm.

Nothing given, and I don't think VAR would have intervened either.
