    Cambridge 0-1 Bristol Rovers

    Lee Mansell
Former Bristol Rovers midfielder on BBC Radio Bristol

It should be level if not for a fantastic block from James Wilson, he appeared out of nowhere to fling himself in front of the shot which ricochets into the hands of Josh Griffiths.

Rovers just need to settle down, it all seems quiet from the Gas.

No hat-trick for David McGoldrick who sees an acrobatic effort come off the crossbar following Sam Austin's cross.

More intricate play from Notts County between David McGoldrick, Jodi Jones and Sam Austin, but it's looking like that elusive third goal just isn't coming.

  6. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Burton 0-1 Northampton

It’s all over and Northampton pick up their first away win in 11 attempts.

The Cobblers pulled off a bit of a smash and grab job in the second half, riding out some concerted Burton pressure before nicking one at the other end.

Sam Hoskins’ deflected strike in the 86th minute is the difference and Burton will remain firmly bottom of League One.

A first win for Northampton boss Kevin Nolan. Meanwhile, Brewers manager Gary Bowyer's wait to taste victory goes on.

  7. Postpublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

Gas keeper Josh Griffiths bravely comes off his line and jumps to collect a dangerous Cambridge cross.

    Burton 0-1 Northampton

Northampton are within touching distance of a first away win in 11 games after that deflected Sam Hoskins strike.

The Mariners are awarded a corner and it falls to Denver Hume, who crosses it into the box.

McJannet is first to rise and nods it into the net, redeemed.

  14. 'This game is very much still live'published at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Cambridge 0-1 Bristol Rovers

    Ed Hadwin
    Commentator on BBC Radio Bristol

At 1-0 this game is very much still live.

Other than the Luke Thomas goal neither side has had many concrete, clear-cut chances.

  15. goal

GOAL: Burton 0-1 Northamptonpublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

Huge goal for Northampton! Perhaps their long wait for an away win is set to come to an end.

Mitch Pinnock fizzes a ball into the box and Sam Hoskins smashes it towards goal first time.

It takes a huge deflection off Burton defender Jack Armer and flies beyond the helpless Max Crocombe.

  16. Postpublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Burton 0-0 Northampton

Northampton’s wait for an away victory looks set to go on unless they can snatch a winner in the last five minutes.

It will be an 11th game on the road without a win if this stays the same. The Cobblers have won just one in their past 19 away from home (D7 L11) before today.

Boss Kevin Nolan is animated on the sidelines. Can he inspire some late drama?

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Burton 0-0 Northampton

Northampton's Sam Hoskins gets in an unpleasant verbal exchange with the linesman after fouling Burton's Rumarn Burrell on the touchline and is rightly shown a yellow for dissent.

    Richie Smallwood (48 mins)

Penalty converted as captain Richie Smallwood slots it into the top left corner.

  19. CLOSE!published at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Burton 0-0 Northampton

A half-chance for Burton as Nick Akoto's ball into the box drops for Elliot Watt who juggles the ball in the air and turns on it, firing just wide of the upright.

Good skill by Watt but still no breakthrough for Burton. Is it going to be a frustrating afternoon?

  20. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Cambridge 0-1 Bristol Rovers

    Controversy at the Abbey!

Isaac Hutchinson finds the back of the net but while he's celebrating, it's chalked off for offside.

The flag was raised rather late and whether he was or not is up for debate.

That'll sting if Cambridge do manage to strike back.
