You just knew that would happen! Nelly Korda laughing all the way up to the green after that Allisen Corpuz fluke, then takes full advantage by draining the long eagle putt to send the USA ahead in this match for the very first time.

With just four holes to play.

  3. Thin to win!published at 15:20 British Summer Time 14 September

    Corpuz/Korda v Pedersen/Ciganda A/S (13)

What have we just seen here! Allisen Corpuz thins the pants off her second shot with a fairway wood and that's heading for the water all day.

BUT - it's sliced away and not only avoided the drink, but also skirts down the side of a bunker, bounces and rumbles all the way onto the green!

That's an outrageous stroke of luck and to come at this stage of such a big match is a massive dagger to the Europeans.

  4. Postpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 14 September

    2UP Thompson/Coughlin v Stark/Hall (12)

Lauren Coughlin takes her time on just a short two-footer but she needn't have worried as she just strokes it in as she should to equal Europe's birdie and halve the hole.

Emily from Columbia is loaning her support to Europe today as she watches on with her college mate Iciar, who is from Malaga in Spain.

“I couldn’t get home to watch last year so I was determined to be here for this," says Iciar.

“I’ll be back in US colours if this gets close,” adds Emily, whose comments echo those of a number of fans I’ve spoken with this morning.

The gist being they’d prefer an exciting finale on Sunday rather than the hosts opening up a virtually unassailable lead.

  6. Hull & Henseleit living on the edgepublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 14 September

    Ewing/Kupcho v Henseleit/Hull 2UP (12)

Ally Ewing squanders a chance to win the hole at the 12th as she misjudges a makeable putt and fizzes it wide. She and Jennifer Kupcho have to accept par and the hole is halved.

Once again Charley Hull and Esther Henseleit hold on to their lead by the skin of their teeth.

  7. All square!published at 15:09 British Summer Time 14 September

    Corpuz/Korda v Pedersen/Ciganda A/S (13)

Team USA level this one up as Emily Pedersen can't make a seven-footer to save the hole.

A reminder that Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz are unbeaten so far in three Solheim Cup foursomes - and also a reminder of the chances Europe missed earlier in the round to stretch their two-hole lead even further.

You can't afford to do that against this pair.

  8. US trim lead once againpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 14 September

    Vu/Schmelzel v Boutier/Nordqvist 4UP (11)

Hmm, that unassailable six-hole lead is suddenly down to four for our final match-up and Anna Nordqvist and Celine Boutier are looking over their shoulders.

Fine tee shot from Lilia Vu again and Sarah Schmelzel finds her touch on the putting surface for the first time in the round.

It's getting a little louder here.

Europe in the front left bunker so Nelly Korda goes on the attack and laces an eight iron pin high, about 10 feet to the right and the USA will fancy their chances of levelling the top match here.

  10. USA lead back to twopublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 14 September

    2UP Thompson/Coughlin v Stark/Hall (11)

Lovely tee shot on 11 from Lauren Coughlin to leave Lexi Thompson just four feet or so for the birdie, which she makes with ease to restore their two-hole advantage.

This is the base match for Stacy Lewis, Team USA have to keep this one then hope to turn one of the two others that are close.

  11. US pull one back in final grouppublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 14 September

    Vu/Schmelzel v Boutier/Nordqvist 5UP (10)

A first shave off Europe's lead in the final group after Sarah Schmelzel produces a thunderous drive to reach the green on 10 and Lilia Vu gives that the polish it deserves with the putt.

The gap is trimmed to five holes with eight left on the card.

    Saturday foursomes: Corpuz/Korda v Ciganda/Pedersen 1UP (12)); Ewing/Kupcho v Henseleit/Hull 2UP (11); 1UP Coughlin/Thompson v Hall/Stark (10); Vu/Schmelzel v Boutier/Nordqvist 6UP (9)

  13. Henseleit holds her nervepublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 14 September

    Ewing/Kupcho v Henseleit/Hull 2UP (

Esther Henseleit makes amends for an iffy tee shot on the 11th as she shows ice in her veins on the greens.

The European fans were gnawing through the handles of their umbrellas when Henseleit stepped up after Ally Ewing tapped in for par.

However, Henseleit sinks a tricky one. She and Charley Hull are living dangerously at the moment, but still have a two-point cushion.

  14. Top match getting nervypublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 14 September

    Corpuz/Korda v Pedersen/Ciganda 1UP (12)

USA look in control of the par-five 12th until Carlota Ciganda sinks a crucial birdie putt, which then turns the pressure all on Allisen Corpuz not to mess up a short one.

The American holds her nerve but this match is getting very nervy now as we head down the stretch.

  15. Ouch!published at 14:49 British Summer Time 14 September

    1UP Thompson/Coughlin v Stark/Hall (10)

Maja Stark has a glorious opportunity to banish the one bit of red off the scoreboard, but she misses the short putt on the 10th to let the Americans off the hook and stay one ahead.

  16. Europe go six uppublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 14 September

    Vu/Schmelzel v Boutier/Nordqvist 6UP (9)

Another birdie chalked up for the Europeans at the ninth in our final match so Sarah Schmelzel needs to respond for the USA.

She's in closer after a lovely Lilia Vu tee shot but has been ragged with the flatstick so far. And so it continues. Missed and time is very much ticking on this match.

  17. Hull saves vital parpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 14 September

    Ewing/Kupcho v Henseleit/Hull 2UP (10)

Ally Ewing overcooks a birdie putt at the 10th and Jennifer Kupcho taps in.

However, Charlie Hull makes amends for her blunder at the tee with a nerveless putt, from a tricky distance, to save par and halve the hole.

A huge sigh of relief for the European pair who hold on to their lead.

  18. Stark strikes againpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 14 September

    1UP Thompson/Coughlin v Stark/Hall (9)

Lexi Thompson can't make her putt this time and Maja Stark gets a bit of a read to help her drain hers to win the hole for Europe and again the lead is back down to one.

They've only halved two of the nine holes on that front side in quite an erratic match so far.

USA have led since the second hole and every time Europe peg them back they manage to stretch the lead again. This could be fun down the back nine.

  19. Hull tee shot opens the doorpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 14 September

    Ewing/Kupcho v Henseleit/Hull 2UP (10)

Charley Hull and Esther Henseleit, along with some officials, are hunting in the long grass at the 10th hole for the ball after the former dragged her tee shot wide of the green.

They've had to take a penalty drop.

Ally Ewing and Jennifer Kupcho will be eyeing the chance to strike back to within one point of the European duo.

  20. Nordqvist dominance continuespublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 14 September

    Vu/Schmelzel v Boutier/Nordqvist 5UP (8)

Dominant from Anna Nordqvist and there's a feisty fist pump as she rolls in a super birdie putt at the eighth.

That makes it five up through eight in the bottom match.

A nice ripose to the rising tide of red.
