    1UP Khang/Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom (4)

Megan Khang lands one in close on the short fourth hole and she's the only one of the four with a realistic birdie chance - but she can't convert it so the lead stays at one.

  2. Lee seizes upper handpublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 14 September

    2UP An Lee/Zhang v Boutier/Grant (2)

Andrea Lee's putter is red hot.

She walks in a birdie to win back-to-back holes and give the Americans the upper hand against Celine Boutier and Linn Grant, who have been a little slow out the blocks.

A full English pairing for Europe to round off the fourball as Georgia Hall and Charley Hull team up.

Not ideal for me trying to keep tabs on them and press the correct vowel but a duo that know exactly what the Solheim Cup is all about.

  4. 'It’s a big challenge but we love it' - Pettersenpublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 14 September

    Suzann PettersenImage source, Getty Images

Europe captain Suzann Pettersen spoke on the first tee after the foursomes earlier:

"We came out with what we had and I thought it was fantastic. We were hoping for 3-1 and some of the girls were disappointed they didn’t get their point but I was immensely proud how they came back out.

We’ve still got a job to do. We could have a strong afternoon and be right back in it."

"We just have to take it one by one. We need a strong start, I cant lie but these girls are up for it. It’s a big challenge but we love it."

On leaving out Leona Maguire: "It’s always hard to sit great players. We have to play the ones that are really playing well this week. Leona's a great team-mate - she understands.

"She’s allowed to be disappointed but at the same time she has to believe in what the team is doing."

    1UP Khang/Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom (3)

Madelene Sagstrom just misses with a downhill slider for the win on the third so the USA stay one ahead.

And ,thankfully, both of the American caddies have the tops back on now...

    Ewing/Thompson v Ciganda/Pedersen (17:35 BST)

Scrappy from this fourball as they approach the first green.

Lexi Thompson is the only one to make it on safely - the rest are flirting with rough and sand.

It's interesting Suzann Pettersen has rolled out Emily Pedersen and Carlota Ciganda again after they were edged out in the foursomes earlier.

The duo had led for much of the session but fell behind on the 17th green and lost by a hole.

They're up against Solheim Cup veteran Lexi Thompson and Ally Ewing, who has lost both her matches so far.

  8. US take lead in second matchpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 14 September

    1UP An Lee/Zhang v Boutier/Grant (1)

    That electricity is catching.

Andrea Lee has taken aim from range on the first and drained a long-distance putt of her own.

Two matches out on the course. Both are red early on.

    Iain Carter
BBC golf correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Live

I did take my shirt off in tribute obviously for the update I just gave on 5 Live - it makes for good radio! (Pretty sure Iain was joking here...)

The electricity that has put through the crowds and the galleries. It's so in the face of the Europeans who are already up against it.

It could have the same effect as Emily Pedersen's hole in one did last year.

    Sensational shot.

We're sitting here talking about key moments, wondering if Alison Lee was going to find hers. She just answered that.

I didn't expect people to drop shirts after that though. We had two guys with shirts off after that. What a world out there!

  12. Hole out!published at 17:35 British Summer Time 14 September

    1UP Khang/Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom (2)

Absolute carnage on the second hole as Alison Lee holes out from 86 yards away on the fairway!

Megan Khang, as you'd expect, is going completely nuts but Lee's caddie has gone even further as he's taken his shirt off to celebrate.

    What is going on!?

The fourballs may be getting under way but it is lunchtime in Virginia and that means the concession stands are packed out with people trying to grab something to eat.

It's not exactly like popping to your local butty shop mind, a Maryland Crab Cake sandwich will set you back $21, while a cheese burger is also the best part of $20 and if you want to wash that down a beer is $10 and a bottle of water $4.

  14. A half to startpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 14 September

    Khang/Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom A/S (1)

Alison Lee almost holes out from the greenside bunker, before Megan Khang scares the hole with a putt from miles away.

Madelena Sagstrom has a long poke at a birdie but it never threatened to drop and the first hole is halved.

    An Lee/Zhang v Boutier/Grant (17:20 BST)

    Celine BoutierImage source, Getty Images

Celine Boutier clearly enjoyed playing with Anna Nordqvist this morning - now she'll try and carry that momentum with Linn Grant who lost both her matches yesterday.

    Including to this US pair.

Andrea Lee and Rose Zhang were excellent in winning 5&4 on Friday. They'll eye another red point in this contest.

  16. Postpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 14 September

We've got Europeans dancing at the first tee now. That's been the Americans so far but maybe the scoreline has got Suzann Pettersen's side feeling like they have nothing to lose.

Moments away from the second group teeing off.

  17. 'Got some momentum back'published at 17:17 British Summer Time 14 September

A quick word from USA captain Stacey Lewis on how the foursomes went for her side:

"The finish got us some momentum back and then on the back nine - even the points we didn't win - to take them down the stretch builds it with the crowd.

Hopefully that will help in the afternoon as the crowds get bigger. The pairings were set last night and those chosen are ready to go."

  18. Dynamic duopublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 14 September

Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz are the first pairing in Solheim Cup history to win four consecutive foursomes matches.

Entering the match they were tied for the Solheim Cup record with a couple of legendary European Team pairs: Laura Davies & Alison Nichols (three straight wins, 1990-1994) and Annika Sorenstam & Carin Koch (three straight wins, 2002-2003)

  19. Fourballs under waypublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 14 September

    Khang/Lee v Nordqvist/Sangstrom

The Swedish pair get us under way in this crucial afternoon session - at the very least you'd think they have to win the fourballs just to take some sort of momentum into tomorrow's singles.

Anna Nordqvist has been simply sensational. I'd put her play right up there with Nelly Korda in the two matches she's played so far.

Let's see if the veteran can do it again...
