Lluniau: Cofio Capel Celyn // Pictures: A village before the drowning
- Cyhoeddwyd
Mae Cymru yn nodi 50 mlynedd ers i bentref gwledig Capel Celyn, ger y Bala, gael ei foddi er mwyn darparu dinas Lerpwl gyda dŵr. Cafodd teuluoedd eu gorfodi i adael eu cartrefi, a bu'n rhaid ffarwelio gyda'r ysgol, y capel a'r ffermydd. Dyma gasgliad o luniau gafodd eu tynnu gan Geoff Charles, trwy garedigrwydd y Llyfrgell Genedlaethol, yn dangos y ffordd o fyw cyn y boddi.
It's 50 years since a small village in rural north Wales was drowned in order to supply Liverpool with drinking water, forcing a tight-knit community to give up their land and homes. Here is a selection of pictures, taken by Geoff Charles with the generosity of the National Library of Wales, depicting Capel Celyn and its people before it was flooded.
