Pierce Roche has been Jersey's first choice goalkeeper since Euan van der Vliet got injured last year

Jersey Bulls boss Gary Freeman says the club will look to see if they can appeal goalkeeper Pierce Roche's red card in their 0-0 draw with Redhill.

Roche was sent off in the 90th minute for a challenge on Tom Harland-Goddard outside the box which the referee said denied a goalscoring opportunity.

Veteran midfielder Luke Watson took the gloves and kept out Redhill during 17 minutes of second-half stoppage time.

"A few of the lads said he got the ball," Freeman told BBC Radio Jersey.

With first choice keeper Euan van der Vliet recovering from injury Roche's absence could cause Freeman some problems.

"He's gone flying in and he may have got the ball, I'm not sure," Freeman added.

"As far as the sending off goes I did think one or two of the defenders had got back behind him when he came charging out, and the ball was going away from goal, so I think red was a bit harsh.

"We'll have a look at the video with Euan being out, we want him back as soon as possible, hopefully he's got the ball, like he's telling me he has."

The point sees Bulls' month-long winless run in Combined Counties Premier South extended to three games.

Freeman's side remain in fourth place, 11 points off leaders Farnham Town and eight behind second-placed Knaphill who have played one more game.

Lorne Bickley missed a couple of excellent first-half chances at Springfield while Redhill's joint-top scorer Tyrese Sutherland hit the post 20 seconds into second half.

"We've been a bit scrappy lately and we haven't played the football we like," added Freeman.

"First half I was really pleased with the football we played, I think second half they matched our shape and made it man for man, and it did become a bit of a scrappy battle.

"We were toying with how we could change it, but going down to 10 meant we had to make sure we were solid."
