FC Halifax Town 0-1 Exeter City

A beautiful cross from the right is so close to finding Town striker Mark Harris who, on the stretch, is unable to connect otherwise it surely would have been 1-1.

Moments later, Town winger Owen Bray cuts inside from the right on his left foot but his shot is well gathered in by Exeter keeper Joe Whitworth.

  20. Postpublished at 15:08 GMT 1 November

    Newport 0-0 Gillingham

    Chris Wathan
BBC Sport Wales at Rodney Parade

A bright day in south Wales and a bright start from the hosts looking for a bit of cup cheer to distract them from the fact they’re propping up the rest of the EFL.

There’s been some huge FA Cup moments at Rodney Parade over the years – just think Leeds, Leicester, Man Utd, Man City – but the visit of a Gillingham side from the same division hasn’t captured the imagination with a meagre 1,700 in attendance.

Imagine what the stay-away fans will think if they miss the chance for a first home win in any competition since March.

As for Gillingham, after their win here in September broke a 50-year club record for 21 wins in a row, they haven’t tasted victory since. Plenty to play for then - but no real chances so far.
