Dangerous Bees attack as Yoane Wissa plays it out to Mikkel Damsgaard and he crosses but Kevin Schade can't control the ball to shoot.

  3. Mainoo's best positionpublished at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man Utd 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at Old Trafford

Kobbie Mainoo's performances in midfield for Manchester United last season earned him a place at Euro 2024.

Mainoo's energy was useful for Erik ten Hag, who wanted his players to stretch the pitch.

However, it has not been entirely clear what role Mainoo is best suited to as, defensively, opponents can expose him.

It was the kind of positional improvement Casemiro should have been able to help with, but that didn't happen as the Brazilian's form collapsed.

Mainoo was outstanding as a number 10 in Romania on Thursday but, with neither Rasmus Hojlund not Joshua Zirkzee convincing as a centre forward, it can see why playing Mainoo there appeals.

  4. Postpublished at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man Utd 0-0 Crystal Palace

A nice interchange between Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho ends with the Argentine sweeping a ball across the face of the Crystal Palace six-yard box but there is nobody there to tap that home and Tyrick Mitchell clears for the visitors.

The sun is in Hakon Valdimarsson's eyes. The Brentford keeper tries to put a cap on but quickly throws it off.

    Daniel Munoz nearly scored.

It's the first time we have seen Palace venture forward with any purpose. Tyrick Mitchell was given so much space.

  7. Postpublished at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time

    Brentford 0-0 Tottenham

Spurs make a mess of playing it around the back and Antonin Kinsky's pass lands to Kevin Schade, but he's 25 yards out and can't take immediate advantage.

The Bees keep the attack going though and Yoane Wissa heads over from Bryan Mbeumo's cross.

  8. Postpublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time

    Brentford 0-0 Tottenham

Brentford have faced 49 shots in the opening 10 minutes of games across the Premier League this season - the most of any side.

  9. Postpublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man Utd 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace could be ahead.

Tyrick Mitchell swings in a cross from the left and Daniel Munoz heads high and wide at the back post with home goalkeeper Andre Onana coming and then stopping.

    Great chance that.

  10. Postpublished at 14:09 Greenwich Mean Time

    Brentford 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham clear a Brentford corner. Spurs try to counter but Dejan Kulusevski overhits his ball to Mikey Moore down the right.

    Brentford 0-0 Tottenham

    Stephen Kelly

It's brilliant play from Djed Spence initially.

Richarlison has peeled off Collins' shoulder and just misses it by an inch. It would've been a tap-in from a couple of yards away.

It shows Tottenham can be dangerous.

  12. Archie Gray being booed by Brentford fanspublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time

    Brentford 0-0 Tottenham

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Tottenham midfielder-turned-defender Archie Gray is being booed by the home support.

They haven't forgotten how the 18-year-old turned them down after having the first half of his medical in west London before moving to north London instead.

Chants of "you should have signed for a big club" are coming from the home end.

Interestingly, Spurs hijacked Wolves bid for defender Kevin Danso last night in similar circumstances.

  13. Postpublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time

    Brentford 0-0 Tottenham

Aged 18y 327d, Archie Gray is the second youngest player to make 10 starts in the Premier League for Tottenham after only Aaron Lennon.

A few boos from the Bees fans. Brentford almost signed him from Leeds in the summer - but he went to Spurs instead.

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man Utd 0-0 Crystal Palace

Manchester United are popping the ball around nicely and Kobbie Mainoo now hits the base of the left-hand post with visiting goalkeeper Dean Henderson maybe just getting a touch on that.

  15. 'Fernandes is dropping deep'published at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man Utd 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Leon Osman
Former Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Important block from Chris Richards as Alejandro Garnacho went to shoot.

Bruno Fernandes is dropping deep to play the passes. Kobbie Mainoo popping up with a good touch inside the penalty area.

Ruben Amorim will be pleased with that move.

Six minutes into the game and Palace are finding it difficult knowing where Kobbie Mainoo is going to pop up.

  16. MUTV got it wrong on Fernandespublished at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man Utd 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at Old Trafford

MUTV had Bruno Fernandes as a false nine in their team graphic earlier.

It turns out Kobbie Mainoo is playing furthest forward.

  17. Postpublished at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time

    Man Utd 0-0 Crystal Palace

Almost an opener for Manchester United but Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards is over to make a superb block on Alejandro Garnacho's effort.

  18. 'Frank will want his players to get after fragile Tottenham'published at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time

    Brentford 0-0 Tottenham

    Stephen Kelly
Former Tottenham defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Thomas Frank wants to get after this Tottenham team, they're a bit fragile at the moment.

Brentford, with their home form, should feel confident that they can really impose themselves on them.

  19. Postpublished at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time

    Brentford 0-0 Tottenham

Spurs' first attack. Dejan Kulusevski beats a man on the edge of the box and rolls it across the six-yard back but a sliding-in Richarlison can't meet it at the back post.

    Man Utd 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Leon Osman
Former Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

I'm excited to see how Man Utd operate with Kobbie Mainoo in this false nine.

Mainoo isn't going to runaway from Palace's defence. He's going to come short and let Amad and Garnacho stretch Palace.
