Vitaly Janelt own goal (29 mins)

Spurs lead - but I'm not sure who got the final touch.

Son Heung-min swings in a corner - and Hakon Valdimarsson flaps at it but before the ball even reaches him it hits the back of Vitaly Janelt and goes into the back of the net.

No wonder nobody was claiming the goal.

It's been such a frantic game without either team creating too many problems.

    It's been end-to-end.

Good move from Brentford. Mikkel Damsgaard sends Bryan Mbeumo down the right with a diagonal ball. The forward beats Djed Spence too easily in the box and shoots but it's straight at Antonin Kinsky.

Nicholas: Spurs use to be a top Premier League side, sprinkled with a few world-class players. Now they're a Championship side, sprinkled with relegation-class players.

I will never understand why Tyrick Mitchell is so consistently overlooked at left-back for England. Even when he was the only fit left-back available, right-backs and midfielders were getting shoehorned into the England team ahead of him.

That is three times now Tyrick Mitchell has been in an excellent position on the left angle of the penalty area.

On the first two occasions, Mitchell crossed, even though he was in a good position to shoot.

The final time, Mitchell went for goal but was off target and Ismaila Sarr couldn't flick the ball goalwards.

Crystal Palace are starting to get control of this game.

Kamada played it to Mitchell, who fired it across. That was a big opportunity.

Brentford players are lining up for an attack. Bryan Mbeumo's cross finds a colleague but he can't turn it in - but they keep the pressure on. A series of cosses and eventually Vitaly Janelt whips the ball in and Yoane Wissa glances a header wide of the far post.

What. A. Chance. Leny Yoro is all over the place at the back for Manchester United and Tyrick Mitchell's shot deflects just wide of the right-hand post.

That's two really good chances for the visitors now.

Both teams have looked like getting the opening goal.

It was good initially from United. I have not seen this much desire from Man Utd this season.

Palace are prepared to run the distance. They're all getting forward very quickly.

Tottenham have a massive game in their season on Thursday, with the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

Spurs lead 1-0 after the first leg, but will have to be at their best to hold off league leaders Liverpool at Anfield and get into a final against either Newcastle or Arsenal.

"Spurs are on their way to Wembley, Tottenham's going to do it again," was an early chant from the fans as the club aim to win their first piece of silverware since the League Cup in 2008.

It does not take the away fans long, about 13 minutes into the match, to express their displeasure with chairman Daniel Levy, chanting "we want Levy out".
