Being charismatic in a press conference does not make you a good coach. When are people going to call it as it is? Ruben Amorim has made a poor Manchester United side even worse. A good coach would not have to hide behind the "not having the right players for the system" excuse. Letting him have free rein over player selection is going to be a massive mistake.

This place has the ability to come alive.

Even if United get a goal now they could go on to win this game.

Someone has to do something special.

Yoro out of his depth at this level, same as Hojlund. Totally get it that Amorim has a free hit this season, but quite worried about his stubbornness to move away from a system that he obviously doesn’t have the players to fit into it.

Tottenham have dealt with crosses very well. Their shape and organisation and their defenders have been in good positions to deal with crosses.

  15. Where's 'Angeball' now?published at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time

Scrappy, ugly and defensive; this Tottenham team have abandoned their 'Angeball' principles entirely in this second half and the away supporters don't mind.

They are 1-0 up and defending their lead doggedly with their backs against the wall.

This is a massive turnaround from when Ange Postecoglou defended his high defensive line and pressing with nine men in the 4-1 defeat to Chelsea last season, saying: "it's just who we are."

But perhaps the Australian manager has finally decided there is a time to just soak up pressure and play for points.

  16. Spurs continue to frustrate hostspublished at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time

    Brentford 0-1 Tottenham

    Michael Emons
BBC Sport at the Gtech Community Stadium

Tottenham came into this match on a run of only one point from seven league matches, including losses in each of their past four league games.

Brentford are pushing for an equaliser but so far the Spurs defence has been well organised and frustrating the hosts in what has been a scrappy, sometimes ugly encounter.

An ugly 1-0 win, full of heart, commitment and desire, is just what Ange Postecoglou needs. Can Brentford change the script with just over 10 minutes of normal time to go?
