The frustrating thing is that we have had a goal disallowed for exactly the same two handed push in the back recently.

We could get to stoppage time 1-0 and I’d still be certain we’re going to throw this game away. Brentford have battered us, we have been awful (again).

Eberechi Eze was supposed to be missing this game with a foot injury.

Manchester United will wish he had.

Eze delivered that free-kick perfectly into the back of the penalty area for Maxence Lacroix, who was unlucky that his header bounced back off the bar.

Jean-Philippe Mateta had no time to react. But he was there as the ball bounced down and Mateta turned it in.

Manchester United have not had much of a goal threat since the early minutes.

Brentford are a club so used to positive headlines, upsets and are becoming a fixture in the Premier League.

You sense, while sat in the stadium, that these home fans expect a victory and they are getting very frustrated at their team wasting chances and not creating the breakthrough.

It's a sign of how far the west Londoners have come, expecting a win against their biggest rivals, who they were seven points above ahead of kick-off.

Unfortunately, it seems that anxiety has fed into some of their play.

Talking about the reaction we wanted.

Eberechi Eze taking the freekick dropped it beautifully over the shoulder of Noussair Mazraoui.

Man Utd want a freekick. There is a nudge in the back. Is it a shove? I'm not sure. Leny Yoro has got to be stronger.

You want your striker sniffing around for the bits and an in-form Jean-Philippe Mateta taps it in.
