Summary

  1. Injury watch - Saka, Calafiori & Jorginhopublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 22 April

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (Wed, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Mikel Arteta is normally pretty coy about injury news, so don't expect any major revelations, but the key players to watch out for are midfielders Bukayo Saka and Jorginho and defender Riccardo Calafiori.

Saka was substituted in the second half of Sunday's win at Ipswich after suffering a nasty-looking rake down his Achilles from Leif Davis, who was sent off for the first-half challenge.

The England winger came out after the break but had an ice pack immediately placed on his ankle after eventually being hauled off.

Calafiori is recovering from a knee problem, while Jorginho is out with a rib injury. Neither are expected to be fit to face Palace but hopes remain they will return in time to play some part in Arsenal's upcoming Champions League semi-final against Paris St-Germain.

  2. Arsenal's impressive home statspublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 22 April

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (Wed, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

    • Arsenal are unbeaten in 11 matches in all competitions.
    • Their last defeat came at home to West Ham in the Premier League on 22 February.
    • That was their only home loss in the league this season.
    • The Gunners have lost just three of their last 36 home Premier League matches (W26 D7), though two of those three have been in London derbies.
    • Crystal Palace have won three Premier League London derbies this season, last winning more in a single top-flight campaign in 1990-91 (5).

  3. What happens if Arsenal beat Palace?published at 15:24 British Summer Time 22 April

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (Wed, 20:00 BST)

    Arsenal

Victory on Wednesday would only delay the inevitable for Arsenal.

They know that Liverpool only need one more win to seal the Premier League title and consign the Gunners to a third consecutive second-placed finish.

The Reds' next match is at home to Tottenham on Sunday.

  4. Can Arsenal win to keep title race going?published at 15:20 British Summer Time 22 April

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (Wed, 20:00 BST)

All eyes will be on Arsenal on Wednesday - in north London and in Merseyside.

A defeat for the Gunners would hand the Premier League title to Liverpool, while a draw would leave Mikel Arteta's side 12 points behind with only 12 points left to play for.

Only a victory would keep the title race going...for another few days at least.

That's all for top five and Champions League chat for now as Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be addressing the media at 15:30 BST.

The Gunners take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League tomorrow night and a win for Oliver Glasner's side will secure the title for Liverpool.

  6. What about the Conference League?published at 15:15 British Summer Time 22 April

There will be one Conference League place awarded to a Premier League team.

Currently, that will go to Carabao Cup winners Newcastle, but that could change if Eddie Howe's side qualify for the Champions League or the Europa League.

As Newcastle currently sit inside the top four that looks likely.

There is a realistic scenario where finishing ninth or 10th in the Premier League could earn you a spot in the Conference League.

In ninth spot is Fulham while Brighton sit 10th.

  7. What about the Europa League?published at 15:13 British Summer Time 22 April

The maximum number of Premier League teams who could be competing in the Europa League is three.

Two places will likely go to the team who finishes sixth and the FA Cup winners.

However, if the cup winners have already secured a European place it will then go to the next highest placed side that has not qualified for Europe.

A third place could be awarded if Chelsea win the Conference League and fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Well, as a Villa fan, it's a cup final tonight for the top five places. I think Forest will fall short and Chelsea will pull a rabbit from the hat and finish top five. I think Newcastle are safe, I think it's us or Man City. Anything less than a win for us tonight will mean our hunt for top five is over, but I'm fine with winning the Europa League next season.

  9. A sixth Premier League side in the Champions League?published at 15:11 British Summer Time 22 April

The Premier League could have a sixth team in next season's Champions League.

If Spurs or Man Utd were to go on and win the Europa League then they would land a spot in Europe's elite competition.

Spurs will take on Bodo/Glimt in their semi-final while Man Utd will face Athletic Bilbao in theirs.

  10. When was the last time Forest were in Europe?published at 15:08 British Summer Time 22 April

Nottingham Forest last qualified for Europe 30 years ago under Frank Clarke.

The club secured automatic qualification to be a part of the 1994/95 season. The manager guided them to a third-place finish in their first season in the top-flight following promotion.

In the 1995/96 season they reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup but were knocked out with an aggregate score of 7-2.

David: The play off places 5th & 6th are still to be decided.... who does you think secures those spots and who gets the glory at Wembley.

Hi, David. Bristol City and Coventry City. And I have gone, without huge conviction, for Coventry City to win at Wembley.

When you look at the remaining fixtures Chelsea have the hardest run in so will finish 7th. I think Villa will finish 6th behind Forest on goal difference and Newcastle and Man City will finish 3rd and 4th.

That Chelsea run-in looks pretty daunting.

Enzo Maresca's side will have to pull off something special if they are to be playing Champions League football next season.

  19. 'There has been a lot of noise around Cunha and I expect him to go'published at 14:30 British Summer Time 22 April

    Phil McNulty Q&A

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Nick: Hi Phil, a bit of a multi-question about wolves. Do you think their current form bodes well for next season, do you think Wolves look better without Cunha and do you think Cunha is showing he lacks the mentals by claiming he wants to win titles but looking likely to join a mess that is Man United?

Hello, Nick. Having seen a bit of Wolves recently, I do think their form bodes well for next season. Vitor Pereira has done a top-class job but it is now about recruitment in the summer. There are some really talented players there to build on.

I think Wolves would miss a player of Cunha’s class but they will get a fee of £62.5m if he goes, so then it will give them a chance to work smartly in the markets.

There has been a lot of noise around Cunha and I expect him to go.

Whether he ends up at Old Trafford remains to be seen but, strange as it might sound after this season, Manchester United will always hold a special appeal for players.
