FT: Ipswich 0-2 Brighton
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler speaking to TNT Sports: "It was a long time without a win. We suffered a little bit, so I am happy for the players and staff, who do a lot of work in the shadows. We deserved to win and now it's time to recover and then it's the next challenge."
On what learned during the winless run: "It's a lesson and the preparation for the next bad period. It was important to stay calm and trust the process because the performances weren't very bad. We could have easily won one of these eight games. At the same time, we were also honest to each other about what we had to do better. It's a young group and there is a scope for a lot of improvement. We were on top of it to be honest."
On Brighton's ambitions: "The most important thing is to stay humble. We were on top at the start of the season and then we had a bad period. It's something no one wants to hear, but we need to go game by game. But it's true. We had so many changes, new players, and young players. We need time to develop them and we have to use every training session and every game."
"We have ambitions. We have great potential in this squad. We are able to compete against any team in this league. But sometimes, we miss a little bit of maturity on the pitch. Therefore, we have to go game by game and see where we can reach."
FT: Man Utd 3-1 Southampton
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim speaking to BBC Sport: "It was not a great game. After Liverpool and Arsenal, I felt the team was a little tired. We were always late, especially in the first half with some problems between the lines. The speed of Kamaldeen Sulemana was really hard to catch and they created some chances also. But we improved in the second half and they lost some strength because they were doing man-to-man. Then we took control of the game and created chances. You have a feeling that it's going to be hard on them, but we deserved the win.
"I wasn't surprised by Southampton. I knew the coach puts a lot of intensity. His style is known in Italy. They were strong in duels in the first half. But in the second, they lost some power and we took advantage of that. The most important thing in this moment is to win and we did that."
On Amad Diallo: "He did a great job. But he has a lot to improve. He played in a different position today. He took advantage of his ability in the second half. The last goal was similar to the one at Everton with the recovery. He did a good job but he has to prepare for the next game.
"All the players in this team have the same responsibility. He doesn't have to step up. That thing will appear if he does the work. If he train well, good things are going to happen. He has the same responsibility as every player who play for Manchester United. He is in a great moment and he is having a very good season. We see this in the past with a lot of players in our squad, so he has to continue to work and play like that."
FT: Man Utd 3-1 Southampton
Southampton boss Ivan Juric, speaking to TNT Sports:"I think we did 75 minutes playing really good - much better than Man Utd. In the last 20 minutes, not good mentality.
"To win this game you cannot play 75 minutes and then 15 minutes you have to be more malicious. A little more evil to win the game.
"It is not physicality, there's a moment when you're down, but you have to earn some fouls, some free throws, losing the time, being much more clever. There's a lot of situations where we're naive.
"Until the end we have to play like this. We have to work even more on the training. It was a really good performance here.
"We are playing a good game, and we are sorry for our fans and angry."
"We did everything good, we had lots of chances to score more goals, but like I said we did a good game until 75 [minutes].
"I want the same performance against Nottingham."
FT: Man Utd 3-1 Southampton
Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, speaking to TNT Sports: "Probably the story of our season. Good for 75 minutes, we did ride our luck at times, but we had big moments we didn't capitalize on.
"We have come out of here with a 3-1 loss - we didn't deserve it. It is tough to take.
"The first goal came from a scramble in midfield. The second goal is a nice ball, but it is a one-two.
"The third one is a tough one as Taylor Harwood-Bellis played outstanding all game."
FT: Man Utd 3-1 Southampton
Southampton boss Ivan Juric speaking to BBC Sport: "We did really good for 75-80 minutes. But we missed the mentality to win the game. There is a moment where you have to be clever and be more malicious to do certain things. We were like innocent kids in some moments and we lost the game that we controlled for 75 minutes.
On whether his players buckled under pressure: "We don't have a lot of pressure. We have six points and are last on the table. It's part of the group. We have to be more competitive in crucial moments of the game.
"We had some really good chances in the first half and we had to score more. We began the second half very well and Kamaldeen Sulemana had a chance and others as well. We only scored once and that was not enough.
"The guys are working well. But we need to work a little more hard to maintain the intensity. I want to see the same spirit in the next game.
"Tonight, I am angry. But from tomorrow, we have to start thinking about Nottingham Forest. The players have to be conscious that they can compete and play well. Our idea is to improve every game."
FT: Man Utd 3-1 Southampton
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim, speaking to TNT Sports: "In the end it is good. A very difficult game, a game of two halves.
"They did a very good job Southampton. Creating space in-between the lines.
"Number 20 [Kamaldeen Sulemana] with a lot of space. We had a lot of difficulty to stop that player.
"When they lose their physicality, we find the space to use. The feeling is we have so much to do - the team is really tired.
"It was a win, it was good - let's continue."
On Amad Diallo: "Even in the first half, every time Amad gets the ball he can push the ball.
"He pushes the other team into the final third - that is really important. We didn't have a good game, but at this moment, winning is the most important thing."
On lack of enthusiasm: "It seems like a lack of enthusiasm. Ugarte is late and Mainoo is late, Bruno Fernandes going outside when the ball is inside.
"One transition and Yoro cannot catch the guy - small things push the team behind, and then we get nervous.
"Today was not a lack of enthusiasm, it was a lack of control in the game."
On players suited to his system: "They are not suited to playing like that.
"With the ball, you saw, we had some patterns."
FT: Ipswich Town 0-2 Brighton
Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna, speaking to TNT Sports, said: "I thought it was an even game until the goal. We were slightly more threatening, the first goal was key and we were not able to produce the response we wanted and the last 20 minutes felt a bit different.
"We lost a bit of belief. They have got very good subs they're bringing on so they are able to go up a gear. We didn't find the belief and conviction that the game was still there for us at 1-0 and that's the disappointing thing.
"It's a setback, no doubt about it. We know we have a big game coming up [at home against last season's champions Manchester City on Sunday] and we have to look forward to these challenges, we can't step back from it just because tonight has not gone our way."

Only Wayne Rooney (21y 4d v Bolton in October 2006) has scored a Premier League hat-trick for Manchester United at a younger age than Amad Diallo tonight (22y 189d), who is now the Red Devils’ youngest ever hat-trick scorer at Old Trafford in the competition.

Disappointing from Southampton having got to the 82nd minute ahead.
Southampton will look back and say 'we should be able to do this every single week'.
Looking at Ruben Amorim and what a scarring defeat this could have been for him.
FT: Ipswich Town 0-2 Brighton
Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna, speaking to Match of the Day, said: "It was a really even game until the first goal. In the first 60 minutes we were the more threatening side, we had the better opportunities and got into the better areas but it was a poor first goal and then the game went away from us.
"We lost belief in ourselves on the pitch, they brought on better subs and pushed on and they were the better side in the last 30 minutes.
"We didn't defend well enough to stop the goal and we have to find a better response, but we didn't manage to do that today."
FT: Ipswich 0-2 Brighton
Brighton forward Georginio Rutter speaking to TNT Sports: "It was important for the team to win today. Because it's been a difficult period during the Christmas. We are happy and it's good for our confidence."
On his winning goal: "The manager didn't say too much. He just asked us to play football and put on the intensity when we came on. That's what I tried to do and I scored. So it's very good. I was a bit scared because of the VAR check. I am very happy and thanks to the team and the fans."
"I think for a player to come into a new team is hard. You have to be patient. I am lucky to play a lot and the manager gives me the confidence."
On the upcoming game against Manchester United: "We always try to do the best. We have to work hard in training as well. We are ready for Manchester United now."
FT: Ipswich 0-2 Brighton
Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke speaking to Premier League Productions: "It feels really good to get the win. We haven't been winning for a while. We came here to win and the mentality was good today. We played well and we deserved to win.
"We started really well and then they got some chances and Bart Verbruggen made some good saves. In the second half, we felt we were stronger than them. We scored some good goals. That's what we needed."
On Fabian Hurzeler's half-time talk: "He told us we needed to do things a little bit better. We played the first 20 minutes really well. But we made some sloppy passes. And we also changed some things in the pressing and you could see that in the second half."
On Danny Welbeck getting an assist on his return: "Danny is so important for us. You can feel it if he is around. On the pitch, he is one of the biggest leaders of our team. He has special qualities. I am really happy for him and for us that he is back."
On facing Manchester United next: "Now we need to keep going and be consistent. We didn't win for a while. So I hope we can now keep the winning streak going."

Surely Zirkzee has staked a claim to start the next game, the threat up front increased 10 fold when he came on.

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler speaking to BBC Sport: "It wasn't the best performance from us, but in the end, we controlled the game and were stable out of possession. We created more chances in the second half, so we deserved to win. I am happy about it. We have suffered in this period and this win should give us the belief and self confidence. Now we have to prepare for the next challenge."
On what he told his players at half-time: "I told them to stay patient and not to try to force it. We tried to force it too much in the first half. We were not getting our positioning right. We changed a few things. In the second half, though they played with more intensity and pressed better, we were more dominant and created more chances. That's why I think we deserved it."
"Every victory in the Premier League means a lot to me because it's very difficult to win in this league. We saw that in the recent weeks. We had great performances, sometimes even better than today, but in the end the result is the most important thing. We are happy but there's only a short time to be happy. We have to focus on the next."
On Georginio Rutter: "I am impressed by his attitude and how positive he always is. He always has a smile on his face. He really enjoys being on the pitch and playing with the lads. He has a lot of important experience in the Championship. He is a good finisher and I am very happy he is here. But there are a lot of things to improve and he knows it. We try to give him the environment where he can improve every day."
FT: Man Utd 3-1 Southampton
Manchester United hat-trick hero Amad Diallo speaking to BBC Sport: "I feel good. I am so happy to score my first hat-trick at Old Trafford. But for me, the most important thing was to win this game and I am happy for the club that we could win it.
"I am so happy for the goal against Liverpool and also today. But the most important thing was to win and I am happy for that.
"I think the team believed till the end. Today we showed that we were the best team on the pitch. We were going to win this game and we did it in the end.
"It's important to win. This gives us the confidence for the next match. We have to keep going like this and play like this. I believe in this team. We can win every match. We showed at the end that we were very good."
FT: Ipswich Town 0-2 Brighton
Ipswich Town midfielder Kalvin Phillips, talking to TNT Sports, said: "Disappointing. In the first half we had the better chances, we were well in the game but in the second half the intensity dropped.
"Brighton are a good team, have got good players in attacking areas but we conceded a few sloppy goals.
"In the first 15 minutes we didn't get hold of the game then started to play well towards the end of the first half. We came in and said we were well in the game and we were close to getting a goal with Wes [Burns'] shot, then the two goals cost us.
"We're trying to not look at the table too much, but we knew we were out of the relegation zone and Brighton had not won in a while so it was a chance to get three points but it was not to be."

Heartbreak for Southampton, they did not deserve to be on the losing side. Great to see the Juric's imprint on what he is trying to do but with Russell Martin's possession based foundation.

Southampton never looked like a bottom team the Premier League.
Ivan Juric will be so disappointed to come away with nothing.

Manchester United's Amad Diallo speaking to TNT after scoring a 12-minute hat-trick: "In football you have to believe. We believed until the end and are very happy to win this game. We drew with Arsenal and Liverpool so the confidence was there. We are very happy."
On where this week ranks after scoring his first senior hat-trick and signing a new contract: "Maybe one of the best weeks in my life. I am very happy for this win. This team deserved to win this game so I am very happy."
On why United left it so late to click into gear: "We know we have quality players in this team. We need sometimes to be more hungry in the final third. Today we showed at the end we were the best team. I am so happy for the win today because this team deserves it.
"I am ready to play every position where the manager likes to put me. I am ready to fight for this club. I am so happy to play where the manager wants me to play and I am so happy to score a hat-trick."
