That could make the list for the biggest miss you'll ever see.

What a big miss. All Antony had to do was control it into the net.

Oh how is it not 1-1?

Terrible miss by Antony as he slides in at the back post to meet Alejandro Garnacho's excellent cross but somehow he just ends up nudging the ball into Aaron Ramsdale's gloves.

A proper 'easier to score than miss' chance.

Where has the performance been from Southampton all season?

Southampton are giving the ball to Kamaldeen Sulemana and he is saying 'I'll take you on' - he is taking the game to United's defence.

  6. CLOSE!published at 21:17 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

    Man Utd 0-1 Southampton

Kamaldeen Sulemana is going to haunt Leny Yoro's dreams tonight.

Every time the Southampton forward has been up against Yoro he has won the battle, this time flying past him into the box before slipping a shot just wide of the far post.

    Ipswich 0-2 Brighton

We head into the closing stages of this contest.

And it's Brighton who threaten to go further clear here as Christian Walton kicks the ball out for a corner.

Dara O'Shea gets in front of Kaoru Mitoma and does well to head the corner behind.

You are looking at the players out there and they've not been on the same page this evening.

They're only one goal behind, it only takes a moment to change that.

This game has taught us two things. United have not turned a corner, and Southampton are much better than they've shown so far. How Southampton are bottom when they can play like this is insane. United are lucky they're not further down there.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

    Man Utd 0-1 Southampton

Matthijs de Ligt's hand was up but the ball struck his shoulder blade.

Manchester United make a double change as Joshua Zirkzee and Toby Collyer come on, replacing Rasmus Hojlund and Manuel Ugarte.

We're only 10 minutes into the second half so Ruben Amorim has not been happy with what he has seen still.

  11. 'Really good finish from Rutter'published at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

It's a really good finish from Georgino Rutter there.

It goes in with real pace and Rutter is the quickest one to react. There are so many Ipswich players ballwatching.

He has his back to goal and swivels and it's always going into the bottom corner.

  12. VAR

Video Assistant Refereepublished at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

VAR is checking to see if Lewis Dunk was in an offside position when Georginio Rutter took the shot.

The check is lengthy, but the goal stays.

    Got to be [handball].

Really good, Sulemana has given Yoro a torrid time.

  14. Postpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

Kamaldeen Sulemana is onto a ball over the top, he gets into the box by breezing past Leny Yoro before driving a shot at goal that is blocked by Matthijs de Ligt.

There's some appeals for a handball.

Two goals against Norwich City at the weekend. And another one tonight for Georginio Rutter.

Yasin Ayari delivers a free-kick into the box which falls for Rutter, who strikes on the turn and the ball creeps into the bottom corner.

To stay in the Premier league we don't need to beat Liverpool and Arsenal. We just need to be better than our relegation rivals. It looks like that's what we are doing tonight!

A bit more tempo from Man Utd.

They are nearly getting a couple of efforts on goal, but it is good defending from Southampton.

The game looks like it's competitive.

  19. Postpublished at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January

It has been a positive start to the second half by Manchester United and it has lifted the home crowd a bit. They certainly couldn't have continued playing as they did in the first half.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 16 January
