Manchester United fans will be starting to get frustrated because it is Southampton who are playing all the confident football at the moment.

Bart Verbruggen comes to the rescue of Brighton again.

Omari Hutchinson finds some space 25 yards away from the goal and decides to have a go. His effort bounces in front of the diving goalkeeper, but Verbruggen does well to keep it out.

This is the problem for Manchester United.

They should be moving the ball quickly and be sure in their passing and getting into position to move their way up the pitch.

But it just doesn't happen.

There is a reluctance to commit in forward positions, which isolates Rasmus Hojlund and allows Southampton to step in and go forward themselves, which just gives the visitors encouragement to keep doing it.

This is what worries Ruben Amorim.

Southampton will be pleased with how they've started this game.

If I was playing in a Southampton shirt tonight I would try to give Kamaldeen Sulemana the ball as much as possible.

Southampton may be struggling in the league but they are capable of passing the ball about nicely and they are starting to grow in confidence with Manchester United sitting back.

Kamaldeen Sulemana gets into the box on the left and whips a decent effort at goal that Andre Onana is able to push away.

Liam Delap has the Portman Road crowd excited as he goes past Jan Paul van Hecke with some fine trickery, but Joel Veltman slides in to stop the Ipswich striker.

Moments later, Wes Burns attacks down the right-hand side before finding Omari Hutchinson in the middle. But the Ipswich record signing's strike is blocked by Carlos Baleba in the box.

Lisandro Martinez gives away a free-kick as he catches Mateus Fernandes late. It is a decent position, right side of the box. The Saints' centre-backs make their way into the box but the delivery is headed away.

Man Utd are playing deep.

Southampton's players are stepping in front and winning the slow passes - it's taking Southampton forward.

Manchester United are in danger of playing themselves into trouble as they try and play out from the back, but a heavy touch by Kyle Walker-Peters bails the hosts out with a throw in.

After a dominant start from Brighton, Ipswich have found some footing in this game.

In other news, Jan Paul van Hecke and Liam Delap clash again, leaving the Ipswich forward on the floor. But the referee waves play on.

Good from Alejandro Garnacho.

Bruno Fernandes delivered it out quickly and Garnacho had one thing on his mind going one-v-one with the defender, James Bree.

A good break forward by Manchester United sees them win the first corner of the game as Alejandro Garnacho is tackled inside the box. The delivery from the set pieces is good but Aaron Ramsdale punches away.

I have watched Man Utd here so many times.

One thing I have been disappointed with is how slow they start games.

It's a decent effort from Liam Delap who cuts in on his right foot and tries to curl it into the far corner.

Ipswich test Bart Verbruggen again.

This time, it's Liam Delap who gets the shot off. But it's hit straight down the middle and the Brighton keeper can make a routine stop.
