That is Marcus Rashford's first assist in the Premier League since he set up Alejandro Garnacho for Manchester United against Brentford back in October.

The half-time substitute has had a big impact here.

No lines needed. That’s well onside.

It was a brilliant ball by Matty Cash towards Marcus Rashford at the back post, perfect weight on it.

Rashford then squares it for Marco Asensio who bundles it in. Reece James was back there but couldn't get enough on it to keep it out.

I think over the course of the game that is a fair scoreline.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 60 mins

Tyrone Mings is withdrawn after that injury scare, with Lamare Bogarde taking his place for the final half an hour.

Actually I think Marcus Rashford might be onside. It looks like Enzo Fernandez on the far side was playing him on.

My eyes are going if that's offside!

    Given!

The new boys combine as Marcus Rashford sets up Marco Asensio with a ball across the six-yard box, with both players definitely onside.

    Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

Lovely, slick passing from Aston Villa but all it takes is one to miss its target and Chelsea are off again.

The Blues haven't over-committed since the interval and take a much more patient approach this time. The result? Villa regain possession and Enzo Fernandez takes a yellow card for halting Villa's counter-attack.

Pedro Neto has been very sharp this evening. He looks like the played Chelsea always hoped he would develop to be.

    Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

The second half has not quite started at the fast, frantic pace which we enjoyed for much of the first.

But here come Chelsea... Wide! Pedro Neto bursts clear of the Villa defence but ends up shooting well wide from an angle. That was a very good chance poorly wasted.

    Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

Marcus Rashford is adamant that his side should have a corner - and he is completely right - but he's told it's a goal kick after he starts jogging towards the corner flag. That is very frustrating for the hosts and the home fans make their feelings known.

Tyrone Mings has gone down with almost no one else around him. It looks like it is going to be the end of his evening.

It is worrying when you see the physios messing around with the knee. He has come back from an ACL injury in recent months.

Reece James is over chatting to Tyrone Mings, who slowly gets to his feet.

Is he going to come back on? A quick word with Unai Emery on the touchline. The Villa boss had been preparing Lamare Bogarde to come on in his place.

This doesn't look good at all.

Tyrone Mings is on the floor, holding his left knee. He looks in a lot pain.

    Aston Villa 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea have won just one of their last five Premier League matches in which they scored the first goal, and failed to win any of their last three in the competition in which they led at half-time.

But Aston Villa have failed to win any of their last six league games in which they've trailed at half-time, going on to lose four of those...

Chelsea have a real good balance tonight.

Reece James and Moises Caicedo sat in front of the back four gives that bit of solidity and then you've got the front four with a good degree of flexibility with players rotating.
