As a neutral, this is the first Aston Villa side I have been excited about since the time of Martin O'Neill. Such talent throughout. As a Blackpool fan I certainly never thought I'd see Rogers alongside Rashford, Watkins and Asensio... A completely different player from his time with us! I'm sure the seaside air invigorated him!

A straight pass broke the Villa defensive line and just as Cole Palmer approaches Emi Martinez you think he may go around him or try to lift the ball over him.
Instead Martinez slips and I think that almost puts Palmer off.

Big chance for Chelsea!
Cole Palmer is through one-on-one but the ball gets stuck underneath him and it allows Emiliano Martinez enough time to recover before Villa scramble clear. That feels like the sort of chance Palmer was punishing opponents with earlier this season.

Morgan Rogers looks like he is struggling. He hasn't been able to get himself back going since that earlier challenge. He is hobbling about and has had one or two looks at his manager, who has since sent some subs to warm up.

It was set up perfectly for Cole Palmer. He gets his body shape right and wants to whip the ball into the far corner but he just curls it wide.
Those are the ones that earlier in the season they were going in, but at the minute they are just dropping wide of the posts.

Ezri Konsa is the most relieved man in the stadium there. He went to step out with the ball, dwelled on it way too long and got caught by the high press.
Cole Palmer just couldn't quite set himself, Villa surrounded him and blocked him out of the danger area.

Chelsea have won 13 Premier League away games against Aston Villa, only winning more at Tottenham (16) and Southampton (15) in the competition’s history.
Aston Villa have lost just one of their last 22 Premier League home games played on Saturdays (W16 D5), a 2-0 loss to Arsenal in August this season which was also a 5.30pm kick-off.
