As a neutral, this is the first Aston Villa side I have been excited about since the time of Martin O'Neill. Such talent throughout. As a Blackpool fan I certainly never thought I'd see Rogers alongside Rashford, Watkins and Asensio... A completely different player from his time with us! I'm sure the seaside air invigorated him!

You think that approaching the last ten minutes one goal could settle it. We just need someone to produce a moment of magic to make that happen.

Villa look the more potent and the crowd are getting behind them. However Chelsea do look dangerous on the counter.

    Aston Villa 1-1 Chelsea

This is finely poised with 10 minutes left on the clock.

Aston Villa have had more control in this second half but they haven't tested Filip Jorgensen too much since getting the equaliser.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 78 mins

    Aston Villa 1-1 Chelsea

A double change for Villa now.

Ollie Watkins and a slightly injured-looking Morgan Rogers are replaced by Leon Bailey and Donyell Malen.

For Chelsea, Jadon Sancho comes on for the booked Christopher Nkunku.

    Aston Villa 1-1 Chelsea

A straight pass broke the Villa defensive line and just as Cole Palmer approaches Emi Martinez you think he may go around him or try to lift the ball over him.

Instead Martinez slips and I think that almost puts Palmer off.

    Big chance for Chelsea!

Cole Palmer is through one-on-one but the ball gets stuck underneath him and it allows Emiliano Martinez enough time to recover before Villa scramble clear. That feels like the sort of chance Palmer was punishing opponents with earlier this season.

There's no doubt Marcus Rashford has had a positive impact since his half-time introduction. His directness is giving Chelsea plenty to think about.

Sounds like Marcus Rashford has made a good start at Villa. Good for him . Deserves some luck.

    Aston Villa 1-1 Chelsea

    Andy Reid

Morgan Rogers looks like he is struggling. He hasn't been able to get himself back going since that earlier challenge. He is hobbling about and has had one or two looks at his manager, who has since sent some subs to warm up.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 72 mins

    Aston Villa 1-1 Chelsea

And now Christopher Nkunku gets a yellow card as the fouls begin to add up.

Aston Villa have the ball for now, working Chelsea side to side, but Morgan Rogers looks to be carrying an injury issue that may need attention.

    Aston Villa 1-1 Chelsea

It was set up perfectly for Cole Palmer. He gets his body shape right and wants to whip the ball into the far corner but he just curls it wide.

Those are the ones that earlier in the season they were going in, but at the minute they are just dropping wide of the posts.

January signing Andres Garcia comes on for Aston Villa, replacing Matty Cash.

Just before that, Cole Palmer whips a shot over after cutting inside, while John McGinn has joined Enzo Fernandez in the referee's book.

    Aston Villa 1-1 Chelsea

    Andy Reid
Former Tottenham and Nottingham Forest midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Ezri Konsa is the most relieved man in the stadium there. He went to step out with the ball, dwelled on it way too long and got caught by the high press.

Cole Palmer just couldn't quite set himself, Villa surrounded him and blocked him out of the danger area.
