David Moyes is unable to disguise just how happy he is to be back at Everton manager - and the feeling appears to be mutual among fans.

He has just been warmly applauded as he made his way along the touchline to conduct pre-match media duties - and was then delighted to stop and have selfies taken with supporters.

Moyes will be hoping to make it five wins from six Premier League games since he came back to Goodison Park.

Yeah, that's a good point Stuart.

When Blackpool had 29 points after 26 games, the team in 18th had 27.

Also, if you reckon Man Utd will get a result today, there's a "RE: 11:47 - Not for me Clive" joke out there ready for the taking.

Re: Man Utd in a relegation battle No they're not. None of the bottom three will get 29 points. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news ;-)

    Stuart

Everton are highly motivated under Moyes and I can’t see United getting anywhere near them.

Haha, I'd be enjoying the peace and quiet while you can Sham. In an hour or so it's about to get LOUD.

Only six games left at Goodison Park including this.

Rather quiet inside Goodison at the moment, you could hear a pin drop - has the PA system broken down?

United will struggle today, but I hope Chido Obi-Martin and Sekou Kone get some game time. They're definitely worth a punt to freshen things up.

So just on that "are Man Utd in a relegation battle" theme...

My boss has done some digging and found out the year Blackpool were in the Prem, when they went straight back down to the Championship, they had 29 points after 26 games.

If United were to lose today, well, you never know...

I sincerely don’t get the rational in Ruben Amorim’s persistence on making selections that evidently can’t suit his style of play . What is he really playing at? And at what point is Man U officially in a relegation battle ? Sad times indeed.

Valenty Julius Samon (Worried Man U fan)

Most Everton fans wanted Alcaraz not Doucoure. Moyes is result focused though and is being cautious. I expect we'll see Alcaraz at some point though.

Thanks Nathan, I'm glad someone brought up Fantasy Football. Yesterday I asked for some FPL advice and some trickster told me to replace Arne Sot for Ruud van Nistelrooy "for the differential".

4-0 defeat. Never trusting you lot again!

Decent Man United lineup considering what's available. We need a more defensive midfield to avoid being overrun. Garnacho is not a wingback or 10 and he is much better as an impact player later on. Be good to get Erikson's creativity at some point and please more minutes for Chido for goals.

Everton defender James Tarkowski, speaking to TNT Sports: "It has been special [Goodison Park]. I have had some special memories here, so far.

"Most teams get that new manager bounce, but we are beyond that a little bit. I think we can be a lot better, but the results are the most important thing at the minute.

"Belief and confidence, winning games brings that. You see big Beto showing form.

"It comes from the wins more than anything. We are building from that."

On David Moyes: "He is very thorough. His knowledge and experience is incredible. We are getting a lot of tactical awareness and we're going into games knowing what we're doing."

On his goal against Liverpool: "I knew the game was coming to an end. Lucky enough it landed to me and it was swing and hope. An amazing moment, I am so glad to be part of that moment in history.

"We knew how big of night it was going to be. It was only one point on the board, but it meant more than that."

Judging by the thumbs, I'm guessing Casemiro starting isn't a popular decision...

The Brazilian is making his second start in 2025. He had been out of favour under Ruben Amorim for a good while.

    Everton v Man Utd

Everton make one change to the side that last Crystal Palace last weekend.

Abdoulaye Doucoure returns to the side after serving a one-game ban for his dismissal in the fiery derby against Liverpool, coming in for Carlos Alcaraz, who is on the bench.

Everton XI: Pickford, O'Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Garner, Gueye, Lindstrom, Harrison, Doucoure, Beto.

    Everton v Man Utd

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim also makes one alteration to the side beaten by Tottenham last Sunday.

Manuel Ugarte is back after missing that defeat, coming in for Alejandro Garnacho.

Christian Eriksen and Leny Yoro are both on the bench, alongside the highly-rated Chido Obi-Martin and Sekou Kone.

Man Utd XI: Onana, Dalot, Mazraoui, Maguire, De Ligt, Dorgu, Fernandes, Casemiro, Ugarte, Zirkzee, Hojlund.

Manchester United are under serious pressure. Everton are suddenly doing really well.

With thirteen games to go this could, could, be a season-defining match for both these teams.

Or we might be on for a very ugly 0-0 draw.

You never know with the Premier League these days! Shall we?
