Marmoush does well on the edge of the box, he tries to play the ball through for himself and that is when Haaland just accelerates onto it. It's the little turn of pace and he's then able to dink it over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. The turn of pace is brilliant, it really is

    HAAAAAALAND!

He's huffed and he's puffed and he's finally got his goal.

Erling Haaland marks his 100th Premier League appearance with a goal but it's Omar Marmoush who does all the hard work as he bundles his way past a couple of challenges in the box.

The ball falls nicely for Manchester City's prolific striker - and he makes no mistake this time.

If we lose this today, no matter what the final score is, Potter will be gone. The international break is an ideal time to make a change.

City are so far off the level of Liverpool and Arsenal, it’s frightening how much we have regressed in the last 12 months.

Please can Nottingham Forest step it up a notch, I don't want my triple captain on Chris Wood to go to waste!

  12. 'Decent chance'published at 14:29 British Summer Time 31 August

    Brighton 0-0 Man City

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at The Amex

Marmoush pulled off at the far post area but he was off balance a little bit and had to hit it on the side volley and couldn't quite keep it down. It was a decent chance.

  13. Postpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 31 August

    Nottm Forest 0-0 West Ham

Lucas Paqueta keeps the ball in a tight spot in the West Ham left-back position, holding off a couple of home players before playing a pass inside to a team-mate.

The ball is then unceremoniously launched forward by Konstantinos Mavropanos straight to a Nottingham Forest defender.

The Brazilian must wonder why he bothered.

  14. Postpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 31 August

    Brighton 0-0 Man City

Erling Haaland could have had a first half hat-trick on his 100th Premier League appearance.

One poor finish, one attempt that flashed just wide and a header that was well saved.

Really good, direct play from Bobb to win the ball in the Brighton half. he looks for Reijnders who with one touch lays it off for Haaland. He takes the shot from the edge of the box but someone of his quality should do much better.

Then the hanging, drifting ball from Ait-Nouri to the back post and Haaland is the first one to get up to it at the back post but Verbruggen does so well to get across. Very, very close to City going in front.

  16. CLOSE!published at 14:27 British Summer Time 31 August

    Brighton 0-0 Man City

    Much better by Manchester City.

Erling Haaland has only touched the ball three or four times and he's now had three great chances.

His attempts a shot which flashes just wide of the post after a decent team move involving Oscar Bobb.

Moments later Rayan Aït-Nouri puts in a hanging cross into the box and Haaland is up to nod it towards the net but Bart Verbruggen claws it away.

Hammers players don't seem to really want the ball. They don't show enough and movement off the ball is negligible. The body language needs to be so much more positive. The new lad at least looks keen.

It's quite a subdued game so far, neither side of fans have been given much cause to get excited.

Dan Ndoye has caused a few problems for West Ham on the right while there have been glimpses from Mateus Fernandes on his Hammers debut.

Overall you would expect Graham Potter to be relatively happy, West Ham have not allowed Forest to overwhelm them.

City have actually played the ball a lot longer, lot more often than they usually do. So there has been a slight change in the way that they play.
