Chelsea supporters have been asked to arrive early for the opener at home to Crystal Palace this afternoon.

They are being offered half priced drinks including for alcohol if between 12 noon and 1pm.

There will also be a special "unveiling at 1.30pm" before kick-off.

This is all designed to gets fans into the stadium in plenty of time given they are trialling a new digital ticketing system at Stamford Bridge and are wary of potential issues arising.

It will be an intriguing starting XI for Chelsea given their difficulties at centre-back.

Levi Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo are all unavailable, leaving Enzo Maresca with a dearth of options in the heart of his defence.

Trevoh Chalobah should start following his impressive end to last season, while Josh Acheampong – just 19 – is another option at centre-back.

Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens are also hoping for their Premier League debuts today.
