Brilliant defending from 19-year-old Josh Acheampong for Chelsea. Firstly he makes an excellent sliding challenge on Daniel Munoz and then gets to the ball first with Jean-Philippe Mateta charging in. Acheampong draws the foul and Mateta is booked.

  3. VAR

    As we were.

Elliot Anderson goes low with his free-kick and Morgan Gibbs-White is adamant there was a handball in there but a corner is given.

VAR will be taking a look, of course.

Keane Lewis-Potter is getting a word from the referee after taking a swipe at Neco Williams. No yellow just yet.

  6. Chelsea are not creating enoughpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time

    Chelsea 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Nizaar Kinsella
BBC Sport Chelsea reporter at Stamford Bridge

The first big Chelsea chance came after a Gittens cross was deflected in Chalobah path but he skies the shot over.

Arguably Cucurella's looping header earlier was another and it created some panic as Ismaila Sarr cleared off the line but Chelsea have not created much.

  7. 'Chalobah should hit the target'published at 14:32 British Summer Time

    Chelsea 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Steve Sidwell
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea were fortunate to have this chance created.

Jamie Gittens was always going to drive on to his right foot, but it takes a deflection and falls to Trevoh Chalobah.

Chalobah has a snapshot and he should hit the target.

  8. Postpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time

    Chelsea 0-0 Crystal Palace

A great chance for Chelsea after good work from summer signing Jamie Gittens. His shot bounces around the penalty area and drops perfectly for Trevoh Chalobah central eight yards out, but he makes a hash of the strike and blasts it over the top. Should have been a goal and that's a big miss.

  9. Postpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Brentford

It's poor from Brentford to give the ball away in their own half as Ibrahim Sangare finds Morgan Gibbs-White but the Forest attack breaks down before they can find a shot.

  10. 'Brentford have ridden the storm'published at 14:30 British Summer Time

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Brentford

    Rachel Corsie
Former Scotland and Aston Villa captain on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Brentford have just ridden that storm from Forest, it felt like ten or so minutes they maybe might have got the second. Brentford will hope that they can get one or two more chances before the half comes to an end.

Forest's waves of attacks have slowed and Brentford seem to have weathered the storm but the visitors are still struggling to create chances themselves.

  12. Postpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time

    Chelsea 0-0 Crystal Palace

Daniel Munoz and Marc Cucurella challenge for a bouncing ball and Munoz is just slightly late and clatters into the Chelsea defender.

Munoz gets a yellow card for his trouble.

  13. The rules and reasons why Palace's goal was disallowedpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time

    Chelsea 0-0 Crystal Palace

Still confused about that disallowed goal?

    Here's the law:

Until the ball is in play, all opponents must remain:

    • at least 9.15 m (10 yds) from the ball, unless they are on their own goal line between the goalposts
    • outside the penalty area for free kicks inside the opponents’ penalty area

Where three or more defending team players form a ‘wall’, all attacking team players must remain at least 1 m (1 yd) from the ‘wall’ until the ball is in play.

  14. 'Almost like teams aren't in the same division'published at 14:27 British Summer Time

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Brentford

The amount of dominance that Forest have had so far, it's almost like these two teams aren't in the same division. There's a lot of players in this Brentford side that are used to the league, the gulf should not be what we've seen.

In it comes deep towards Nathan Collins but it loops high into the air so Matz Sels is able to claim.

  16. 'Great effort from Yarmolyuk'published at 14:25 British Summer Time

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Brentford

    Rachel Corsie
Former Scotland and Aston Villa captain on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It was a great effort from Yarmolyuk. He probably felt that he didn't have a pass on and would have preferred it cleaner on his right foot. In the end he opted for the outside of the foot finish and forced a good save from Sels.

  17. Postpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Brentford

We're finally seeing something from Brentford in an attacking sense now as they win their first corner of the game.

  18. Palace goal ruled out as Guehi too close to Chelsea wall when free-kick taken, says Premier Leaguepublished at 14:25 British Summer Time

    Chelsea 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Premier League

Premier League Match Centre on X regarding Crystal Palace's disallowed goal: "After VAR review, the referee overturned the original decision of goal to Crystal Palace.

Referee announcement: “After review, away number six is less than one metre away from the wall as the shot is taken. Therefore, it's an indirect free kick and a disallowed goal”.

  19. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Brentford

This is better from Brentford as they break forward and Yehor Yarmoliuk forces a save from Matz Sels low to his right.

He goes with the outside of his foot so the ball is curling towards Sels rather than away.

  20. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time

    Chelsea 0-0 Crystal Palace

A few chances for Chelsea. Cole Palmer arcs a shot over the top and a corner is then headed over the bar.
