It is very difficult to see if there was actually any contact on Maxence Lacroix by Liam Delap. There is a stretched foot but he was going for the ball. There might have been the slightest of contacts, certainly nothing as bad as was made out.

Maxence Lacroix needs a bit of treatment after a strong challenge between him and Liam Delap. The Palace man wins the free-kick, but no card for the striker. Probably about right.

Ipswich Town are the only Premier League side without a home win this season (drawn four, lost two), in what are Kieran McKenna’s first six home games in the competition.

Only six managers have failed to win any of their opening seven home matches in the Premier League, most recently Vincent Kompany with Burnley last season.

It's going to be the battle of the attacking wing-backs with Leif Davis and Daniel Munoz up against each other.

Both players have already made an attacking run.

Liam Delap really puts himself about. I think a lot of people have been surprised at how quickly he has adapted to the Premier League.

A first chance for Ipswich and it comes from a whipped corner from the right by Leif Davis, but Marc Guehi does superbly to get there ahead of Dara O'Shea and heads it behind for another corner, That one from the left is taken by Jack Clarke but comes to nothing.

Tyrick Mitchell has a lot of space on the left flank for Palace but his whipped cross is overhit and none of his Eagles team-mates can get on the end of it.

Crystal Palace are unbeaten in all four of their Premier League meetings with Ipswich Town (won three, drawn one) - though this is their first game since February 1995.

Meanwhile, Ipswich are unbeaten in their past 28 midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) league matches, since a 2- 0 loss to Charlton Athletic in League One in December 2021 (won 21, drawn seven).

Ipswich fans have been fantastic every time I have been here. They have stuck with the team throughout this wonderful journey of the past two years or so. And there is a genuine chance that this club could stay in the Premier League.

When things don't go quite to plan how the supporters react is vital, how they stick with you and keep you going. Their support is so, so important.

Both teams were beaten heavily at the weekend and this feels like a massive game for West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui, who is back under scrutiny again after such a big defeat at home by Arsenal.

What might help him here is how bad Leicester are defensively. This is Ruud van Nistelrooy's first game in charge of the Foxes so you would expect King Power Stadium to be rocking, but that will not help them keep the Hammers out.

I am not convinced by West Ham in any way, shape or form at the moment but they have attacking players who can hurt Leicester, and that will get them the win Lopetegui needs.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-2

It's still relatively early in the season but this is a big game for both sides.

If either of the sides manage to get the win it will move them three points clear of the bottom three which will be a huge psychological boost ahead of a busy December packed with games.

A rare three-game week in the Premier League football schedule now gives Ipswich the opportunity to pick up points with back-to-back fixtures at Portman Road against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth respectively.

Saturday's defeat at Nottingham Forest was frustrating, but in truth it was a game lacking quality from both sides. Forest stopped Ipswich from playing in the second period and produced a defensively solid display, which can be delivered off the back of three seasons of top-flight finances and signings.

So, on to Tuesday night we go with Crystal Palace the visitors to Portman Road. Over the past two seasons these three-game weeks have been navigated superbly by Kieran McKenna with clever squad rotation and planning often delivered seven to nine point returns.

Of the two upcoming games the Crystal Palace one feels the bigger of the two. Town are level on nine points with Palace but find themselves in the relegation zone courtesy of a poorer goal difference. Palace’s 94th-minute equaliser against Newcastle was a blow for Ipswich and it is crucial to keep them in the relegation mire.

Palace are winless on their travels so far this season with three draws and three defeats and we must take advantage. Portman Road has had some special nights under the lights recently and a full house roaring the team on will help the players get over the line.

We have won many plaudits for the way we have been playing in recent weeks, but we are now at a crucial stage in the season with the games coming thick and fast where we need some points on the board. With tough games against Newcastle, Arsenal and Chelsea to come in the latter part of December it is crucial to start the month strongly.

@Rich at 1901: As an Ipswich fan living in North Yorkshire, my closest PL game is Newcastle this year at just under two hours journey. Next closest would be Manchester or Nottingham. Yorkshire/Humber/Teeside has loads of championship clubs but no PL. Up your game, Yorkshire!

  18. Calm and collected Van Nistelrooy impressed at first news conferencepublished at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

Leicester v West Ham (20:15 GMT)

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Ruud van Nistelrooy arrived a few minutes late for his first news conference as Leicester manager.

The 48-year-old can be forgiven, though, as he quickly adjusts to life at the Foxes. He only met the squad on Sunday and has had just two days to prepare for Tuesday's Premier League visit of West Ham - so his time is precious.

Van Nistelrooy shook journalists' hands and introduced himself, waving at those with cameras at the back of the room and joking that he will try to remember everyone's names.

He spoke clearly and calmly, poking fun at himself as he links up with Jamie Vardy - who broke his Premier League record of scoring in consecutive games in 2015.

  20. 'Ipswich need to turn performances into wins'published at 19:15 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December

Ipswich v Crystal Palace (19:30 GMT)

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Premier League goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Ipswich have been really competitive throughout the campaign so far and I think that they have been a little unfortunate not to get more out of some games.

Now they have to try to turn those good performances into points and hopefully wins because getting three points is all that matters.
