  1. Will Hornets be stung by Boro again?published at 14:44 British Summer Time 5 October

Watford haven't enjoyed playing Middlesbrough in recent times, losing all three of their most recent Championship meetings.

The Hornets have also struggled for form since starting the season with three wins on the bounce and have only picked up one victory in their last five, albeit that was against a tough Sunderland side at home.

Tom Cleverley's side fell to a disappointing 3-0 defeat away at Preston on Wednesday night but are unbeaten at home so far, winning three and drawing one.

Boro arrive in Hertfordshire fresh off the back of an excellent 1-0 win over West Brom at The Hawthorns in midweek thanks to Hayden Hackney's goal.

Hackney has scored in his last two league appearances but has never gone on to net in three consecutive games. Could today be the day?

Michael Carrick will certainly hope so in a game that already looks like it could have significant permutations on the chase for promotion.

Defeat in their last two games has seen West Bromwich Albion hit their first blip of the Championship season and they've slipped from first to fifth after the 1-0 loss at home to Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening.

The Baggies will have to overcome a Millwall side they've consistently struggled against to get things back on track though.

West Brom are winless in their last six league meetings with the Lions who arrive in the West Midlands after suffering a 1-0 defeat of their own away at Cardiff in midweek.

Neil Harris is yet to see his side pick up a victory away from home this season (D2, L2) and today would be some day to end that run.

All three league games at The Hawthorns so far have ended 1-0 to either side...

  3. Greens turn to Gray against Blackburnpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 5 October

    Plymouth v Blackburn (15:00 BST)

Blackburn’s unbeaten start came to a shuddering halt with a midweek drubbing at the hands of Coventry.

John Eustace will seek to get his side back on track as they make the long trip to Devon to face another former Birmingham manager – Wayne Rooney.

Rovers have a historically bad record at Home Park, winning only four of their 26 visits and none since their glorious title march in 1992, and have actually taken just two points from the last four games against Argyle in total.

After a pretty significant blip last season, Plymouth’s home seems to be their fortress again, they have taken 13 points from their last six matches infront of their own fans and beat Sunderland and Luton in their past two.

The Pilgrims signed free agent Andre Gray on Friday after losing Nigerian striker Muhamed Tijani with a long-term hamstring injury, though they are still waiting for international clearance following his spell in Saudi Arabia and they are also waiting for Morgan Whittaker to fire.

The 23-year-old forward was involved in 29 goals in his first 28 home appearances for Plymouth but has now gone a dozen games without a goal or assist at Home Park.

Is today the day or can Blackburn get back on track?

Burnley miss the chance to top the Championship table.

Norwich move up to sixth and Oxford are into the top half.

It'll all change of course in a couple of hours...

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

In a way both teams will be content, if not happy, with a point from this one.

What it lacked in quality it more than made up for with endeavour in the Lancashire sunshine.

Preston had an Emil Riis goal wrongly disallowed for offside early on and also hit the woodwork.

North End keeper Freddie Woodman was only really tested once, by Jaidon Anthony before half-time.

It won't live long in the memory but no quarter was given and it's a hard-fought derby point apiece.

Burnley miss the chance to go top, but Preston put in a performance which surely means they are bound to climb the table.

    Norwich 4-0 Hull City

    Kaide GordonImage source, Rex Features

Norwich stretch their unbeaten home record to 20 league games with a mauling of the Tigers.

The home side took an early lead through Marcelino Nunez's fine strike and quickly doubled their money when Josh Sargent tapped in from Borja Sainz's low cross.

The away side improved after the interval and Sargent missed a chance to make it 3-0 when his penalty hit the post.

Mohamed Belloumi then saw a free-kick come back off the crossbar and it seemed like the visitors could mount a comeback.

Those hopes were ended when home sub Kaide Gordon scored after some really poor defending from the away side and then in-form Sainz scored the pick of the bunch with a wonderful lob over a stranded Ivor Pandur.

    Norwich up to seventh now.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 5 October

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Kaine Kesler-Hayden makes way in the dying seconds, Ryan Ledson coming on for Preston to try and see out the final two minutes and change.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 5 October

    Norwich 4-0 Hull City

Norwich striker Kaide Gordon is booked for a daft challenge on Lewie Coyle.

  11. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 5 October

    Norwich 4-0 Hull City

That sums up Hull in front of goal today.

Ryan Giles sends a great cross into the middle and Marvin Mehlem hits his shot into team-mate Joao Pedro.

    Portsmouth 1-1 Oxford

Oxford United's Louie Sibley celebrates scoring against PortsmouthImage source, Rex Features

It ends all square. No first win for Portsmouth. No first away win for Oxford.

Pompey thought they were on course for that elusive first victory of the Championship season when Mark O'Mahony glanced in a fantastic header from Josh Murphy's cross.

But Louie Sibley drew level for the U's within two minutes of coming off the bench with a deflected effort from the edge of the box.

Elias Sorensen will also be left to rue that early penalty miss after his spot-kick was well saved by Jamie Cumming.

That result means it is the first time Portsmouth have failed to win any of their first five home games outside of the top flight since 1975.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 5 October

    Norwich 4-0 Hull City

Hull City skipper Lewie Coyle is in the book for the away side for a foul on the halfway line.

Into five minutes of time added on now.

  14. Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 5 October

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Kaine Kesler-Hayden has covered an extraordinary amount of ground today and has recently switched to left wing-back. He has pulled up near the corner flag at the Burnley end of the pitch.

It looks like cramp rather than a muscle pull and Duane Holmes helps him up and packs him back off to halfway to try to defend the point they have earned (so far!).

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 5 October

    Portsmouth 1-1 Oxford

Another late change for Portsmouth as Paddy Lane comes on for Elias Sorensen who missed that penalty which feels like a long, long time ago now.

  16. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 5 October

    Portsmouth 1-1 Oxford

Portsmouth break away and Josh Murphy strides towards the edge of the box but his cross is blocked by Peter Kioso.

It's been a great battle between those two today.

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

That could have been a horrible moment for Jack Whatmough after just coming on to the pitch.

  18. SEVEN ADDED MINUTESpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 5 October

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Chaos in the Preston box as Jack Whatmough is unable to clear a cross from the left, giving Lyle Foster a sight of goal, only for two defenders to dive in and block his shot from eight yards out.

SEVEN added minutes will be played and as we saw at Sunderland last night, anything is possible in this league...

  19. FOUR ADDED MINUTESpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 5 October

    Portsmouth 1-1 Oxford

We're into stoppage time and there will be four minutes tacked on to the end of this one.

Is there enough time for either side to find a winner?

  20. Postpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 5 October

    Norwich 4-0 Hull City

Despite the scoreline Hull have been right in this game but they've been punished by a combination of brilliant finishing from Norwich and their own poor defending.

Their three-game winning run is coming to an end in a crushing fashion.
