A lot of art has been displayed across the county this week, including a tree trunk that has been carved to depict a woodland scene.

Meanwhile, an exhibition of cow paintings can be seen at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and nature photos are displayed at Bridgwater Arts Centre.

That and more can be found in our weekly roundup of pictures across Somerset.

Exhibit: Jackie Spurrier is showcasing 14 cow paintings at an exhibition at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton until January 2026. Commission from any sales will go to the hospital charity "Art for Life".

A man, woman and two young children stand behind a fallen tree trunk with their dog in the middle of them. The trunk has been carved so it depicts woodland animals. A squirrel, fox, chipmunk and badger are among the animals carved into the trunk.

Transformation: A Norway maple tree in Victoria Park, Frome, has been turned into a hand-carved table and nature-themed bench, with intricate carving depicting badgers, bats, foxes and squirrels.

The tree, which was felled in May due to a fungal infection, will also be repurposed as timber for play equipment in the town's green spaces, and the shavings will be used for mulching through the winter.
