Andrew Neal's second goal in three games was not enough as Truro lost for a second successive match

Truro City let in two goals in six minutes to lose 2-0 to Braintree Town in National League South.

Andrew Neal and Sam Sanders went close for City in a goalless first half.

Substitute Jayden Davis broke the deadlock after 64 minutes as he drilled an effort into the bottom corner before Alfie Pavey headed home a Davis cross.

Andrew Neal pulled a goal back with nine minutes to go but City could not find another goal as they returned after three successive postponements.

The loss leaves them 19th in the division while Braintree move up to 11th.

"I thought we were better first half and I actually don't think Braintree were better than us second half, but we didn't play to the levels we played first half," Truro manager Paul Wotton told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"That could be down to us not playing for a while, I thought we looked a bit leggy and a bit jaded with 30 minutes to go where we normally get stronger with 30 minutes to go.

"I'm not sat here saying I thought we should have won, but we definitely didn't deserve to lose, so it's a disappointing one."
