    Leeds 0-0 Derby

Big miss for Leeds from the corner!

The ball comes in and Joe Rodon has a free header, which he nods wide of the back post.

He was in so much space. Huge let-off for Derby.

Junior Firpo went immediately to his hamstring.

He has been struggling, not joining in with attacks and looked uncomfortable.

It's a real shame, especially on his 100th appearance but you can't risk a hamstring injury.

    Leeds 0-0 Derby

Now, how will that change impact this game?

Junior Firpo, it's safe to say, is a much more attacking player than Max Wober, who is more of a centre-back.

And Leeds suddenly have their best chance so far as Brenden Aaronson finds himself in space but Eiran Cashin makes a block to get it behind for a corner.

    Sheff Wed 0-1 Preston

Sheffield Wednesday seem all over the place and have James Beadle to thank to keep them in it.

Sam Greenwood finds Emil Riis inside the box who has a great chance to make it two for Preston but Beadle pulls off a good save to deny him. The follow up ball fell to Brad Potts who hit one into the side netting.

Derby try to hit the hosts on the break after a long period of Leeds possession, with Kayden Jackson running through but Pascal Struijk makes a good tackle to win the ball back.

That's very much the way this match is going to go - plenty of possession for the home side and counter attacks for the visitors.

Now Junior Firpo has gone down off the ball. He had been a doubt for this game after picking up an injury earlier this week.

The left-back is coming off for Max Wober early on.

  6. Postpublished at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Sunderland 1-1 Stoke

    You can't look away.

It's chance after chance after chance at the Stadium of Light with most of them falling to the home side.

The latest to Patrick Roberts from inside the penalty box but he can only get his shot as far as a Stoke defender.

  7. 'Leeds have made it really difficult for Derby'published at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Leeds 0-0 Derby

    Aidy White
Former Leeds United full-back on BBC Radio Leeds

This is the first bit of possession Derby have had so far, Leeds have made it really difficult for them.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Leeds 0-0 Derby

Jayden Bogle makes a long run forward from deep for the hosts but can't find the incisive pass.

Leeds are just starting to find a bit more space but so far no shots to test Jacob Widell Zetterstrom in the Derby goal.

Kayden Jackson takes one for the team as Brenden Aaronson breaks for Leeds and Jackson gets a booking for his challenge on the US international.

    Emil Riis (14 mins)

    It's well deserved for Preston.

A throw in is played to Mads Frokjaer-Jensen who makes the run into the box to put in a low cross for Emil Riis who is there for the simplest of finishes.

    Made in Denmark.

  10. Postpublished at 12:43 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Preston

Nice football from Preston as Mads Frokjaer-Jensen threads through Kaine Kesler-Hayden. He does manage to get a shot off as he runs into the Wednesday box but it's a simple enough save for James Beadle.

Preston are moving the ball around well now.

It's been a decent start at Hillsborough.

    Leeds 0-0 Derby

Leeds v Derby match actionImage source, Getty Images

Leeds are having all of the ball in these opening stages with Derby happy to let the hosts have possession while they sit in their defensive shape.

So far the home side haven't really managed to get it into dangerous areas but they're just starting to zip it round with a higher tempo in the wind and rain at Elland Road.

  12. Postpublished at 12:40 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Leeds 0-0 Derby

Dan James looks to get forward down the right for the hosts but the attempted cross ricochets off the Wales international behind for a Derby goal kick.

It was Pascal Struijk's challenge that sent Kayden Jackson tumbling before, definitely contact there but probably not enough for the foul.

  13. Postpublished at 12:40 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Preston

Best moment of the game so far for the home side as Shea Charles jinks past a couple of Preston players in the box to win a corner but nothing comes of it.

They do win another corner, though, which meets the head of Josh Windass but it goes over.

Good bit of pressure from the Owls.

  14. goal

GOAL: Sunderland 1-1 Stokepublished at 12:38 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Tom Watson (7 mins)

Sunderland celebrate scoringImage source, Getty Images

Less than 60 seconds after Stoke took the lead, Sunderland are level!

Keeper Anthony Patterson sends the ball up the pitch for Tom Watson and Jobe Bellingham to play a one-two.

Watson sets himself, then fires low into the net to see the home side regain equilibrium.

  15. Postpublished at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Leeds 0-0 Derby

Not much action on the pitch so far but already some very heavy gusts pushing the corner flags almost sideways at times, Kayden Jackson goes down under a challenge from the Leeds defence but there's nothing doing for the visitors.

  16. goal

GOAL: Sunderland 0-1 Stokepublished at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Lewis Koumas (6 mins)

Stoke take an early lead at the Stadium of Light!

Lewis Koumas picks up the ball near the halfway line and goes barraging down the pitch past an unsuspecting Sunderland defensive line.

The teenager's first shot is saved by Anthony Patterson but his follow-up is a beauty - a cool-headed dink over the goalkeeper and into the opposite corner.

    But hold on...

  17. Postpublished at 12:36 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Sunderland 0-0 Stoke

Sunderland have no need to warm up into the game - they are all go from the very first kick.

Patrick Roberts is the first to take aim at goal but his sharp shot misses the mark.

  18. Postpublished at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Preston

You'd imagine both sides will try and avoid playing the ball high into the air today as it does look like it's swirling.

    It is blustery out there.

James Beadle is forced into an early save albeit very straight forward as Stefan Thordarson's tame effort is straight into the hands of the Sheffield Wednesday keeper.

  19. Postpublished at 12:33 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Leeds 0-0 Derby

Leeds dominating the ball in the early stages - could be a sign of things to come at Elland Road today.
