  1. 'Gakpo hard done by'published at 21:31 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

    Steve McManaman
Former Liverpool winger on TNT Sports

If there's one player you feel sorry for it's Cody Gakpo.

He has made a difference, he has been excellent.

With the summer he has had you'd think he'd be one of first players on manager's list.

He is hard done by, he's been fantatsic.

  2. Postpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

Diogo Jota tries to force his way through inside the box but runs into too many Bologna players and the visitors get the ball clear.

Just over 15 minutes to go.

  3. Postpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Unai Emery is pacing up and down his technical area as Bayern probe for a weakness in his Villa team. He has certainly been the more animated of the two managers.

  4. Postpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

Aston Villa's only shot on target in the game so far came in the 25th minute, from Amadou Onana.

  5. Postpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

You wouldn't say Bayern are knocking on the door but they are dominating play again. A lot of clever passes in the final third.

  6. Bologna are still threateningpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at Anfield

Vincenzo Italiano, the former Fiorentina boss who took his old side to two Europa Conference League finals, losing one of them to West Ham, definitely thinks his side can get a point at least in this one.

Just like Arne Slot is, he's standing on the edge of the technical area, living every moment, and is absolutely furious with his team, jumping up and down on the spot, after a misguided pass sees the ball go out for a throw-in.

He will be pleased with his side's attitude though and fighting spirit. Twenty to go and Bologna are still threatening.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 2 October

I would imagine that Slot will move Nunez on at the end of the season but only when he knows what's going on with Salah. It's the age for players to be learning but there's only so many times Nunez can always be offside or missing "easy" chances.

    Dan, London

Steve. He’s 25 and not exactly showing promise. I think Nunez is decent but just can’t see him being here this time next season.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:28 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

Now a double change for Liverpool as Kostas Tsimikas replaces Andy Robertson at left-back while Cody Gakpo is on for Luis Diaz in attack.

  10. Postpublished at 21:28 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Jhon Duran is warming up...

  11. Postpublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

Liverpool were excellent in the first half, powering forward in numbers whenever they attacked, but they've not quite had the same energy in this half.

  12. 'He'll be on Strictly in years to come'published at 21:26 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Villa Park

Bayern Munich have lots of quality and are starting to go up the gears. The feet from Michael Olise there, he'll be on Strictly in years to come. And look at the bench, Leroy Sane ready to come on, such an array of options.

The officiating in this Villa game has been questionable at best. Why is VAR needed for that handball call nonsense. Isn't this supposed to be Europe's elite competition.

  16. Postpublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern's Jamal Musiala is a class act. A good give and go gets him into the box and his effort is blocked. Ezri Konsa heads the corner away.

  17. '13th in Serie A - that's a false position'published at 21:24 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

    Steve McManaman
Former Liverpool winger on TNT Sports

Bologna are certainly better than 13th in Serie A - that's a false position.

I fully expect them to get better as the season progresses.

Angel di Maria (36 years and 231 days) is the fourth-oldest player to score a Champions League penalty, after Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric and Burak Yilmaz.

  20. 'Rogers terrific in duels'published at 21:23 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Lucy Ward
Former Leeds striker on TNT Sports

He's terrific in duels, Morgan Rogers, he's got the athleticism.

He just came out with the ball then, regardless of being fouled.
