  1. A sub who is subbed - you feel terriblepublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Thomas Hitzlsperger
Former Aston Villa midfielder on MOTD: Uefa Champions League

I feel for Leon Bailey. I've been a substitute who was then substituted and it is the worst feeling - you feel terrible. At least the decision to take Bailey off seems to be tactical - that wasn't the case when it happened to me!

  2. 'Brilliant from Barkley'published at 21:23 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Villa Park

Brilliant from Ross Barkley. Bit of invention with a pass and follow around Joshua Kimmich, gets the ball back and he cannot find Ian Maatsen. The forward had put the burners on to get there but the pass didn't reach him.

  3. Postpublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

Ian Maatsen does get the ball now and lashes a shot over from long range. Barely half a chance really.

  4. 'When it rains, it pours for Villa'published at 21:22 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Villa Park

When it rains, it pours for Aston Villa. They have another big game against Manchester United this weekend and they have lost another couple of players to injury so far tonight, so many injuries. Amadou Onana not looking good the way he's hobbled off and Leon Bailey 100% has something wrong with him to come off [having only been subbed on in the first half].

  5. Postpublished at 21:22 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

Villa midfielder Ross Barkley almost feeds fellow sub Ian Maatsen but it's just cut out.

Every Bologna attack is down Trent Alexander Arnold’s channel. A worry.

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

If Bologna are able to get an equaliser expect Dan Ndoye to be involved in it. He has been the visitors' most dangerous player.

  8. More of the same for Villapublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Thomas Hitzlsperger
Former Aston Villa midfielder on MOTD: Uefa Champions League

Villa have started the second half the same way they started the first - slowly.

Bayern are in control, pushing them back… and even when Villa get on the ball they cannot keep hold of it for long because of how good the Bayern counter-press is. You can feel the pressure building.

You can hear more from Hitzlsperger on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  9. Postpublished at 21:21 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

    Steve McManaman
Former Liverpool winger on TNT Sports

Lovely play again from Gravenberch, he set Salah up.

It was just whether he could get enough whip on it.

  10. Postpublished at 21:20 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

Mohamed Salah, looking to get his 49th goal in the Champions League, fizzes an effort just wide.

  11. 'Nunez still young'published at 21:20 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

    Steve McManaman
Former Liverpool winger on TNT Sports

He's still young, inexperienced, doesn't know the language but he'll have to get up into shape as soon as he can.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:19 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

Bologna make a couple of changes with midfielder Michel Aebischer and defender Nicolo Casale replacing Kacper Urbanski and Sam Beukema, who had been booked in the first half.

  13. 'Davies causing real problems'published at 21:19 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Villa Park

Alphonso Davies is causing some real problems for Villa down the Bayern left hand side. He is picking up some dangerous positions and combining well with Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:19 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

Villa send on Ian Maatsen and Ross Barkley for Amadou Onana, who seems to be injured, and... Leon Bailey, who was only a substitute himself.

  15. Postpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 2 October

    RB Leipzig 1-1 Juventus

Juventus are back on level terms in Germany thanks to Serbia forward Dusan Vlahovic's goal.

Vlahovic is the only player to have scored for Juventus in each of the club's last three Champions League campaigns (2021-22, 2022-23 and 2024-25).

  16. Postpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

    Steve McManaman
Former Liverpool winger on TNT Sports

Nunez needs to score goals but his overall play, his hold up play, bringing other people in, that has to improve.

  17. Bologna fans are believingpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at Anfield

There's a large group of Bologna fans, to the side of the goal their team are attacking in the second half, who are constantly bouncing up and down.

And you can see why they are growing in belief as their team, 13th in Serie A with one win in seven in all competitions this season, are giving Liverpool a fright.

Riccardo Orsolini was free at the back post but his side-footed attempt was blocked by a fine Alisson save, with Kacper Urbanski then shooting over a minute later.

Now the Bologna fans, as one, are waving their scarves around above their heads and it is a great sight, but the Liverpool fans once again raise the volume levels themselves. The hosts could really do with a second goal. This is still a dangerous tie.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

Arne Slot makes a change as he looks to try and inspire Liverpool to scoring a second. Diogo Jota is on, replacing Darwin Nunez.

  19. 'Where else is he supposed to put his arms?'published at 21:17 British Summer Time 2 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bayern Munich

    Lucy Ward
Former Leeds striker on TNT Sports

It does catch Konsa's arm, but his arm is next to his body.

  20. CLOSE!published at 21:17 British Summer Time 2 October

    Liverpool 1-0 Bologna

Bologna captain Remo Freuler breathes a sigh of relief as he sees his header from a Liverpool corner bounce just wide of his own goal. To be fair, he had to get something on it with Luis Diaz right behind him.
