    Newcastle 0-0 Brentford

Alexander Isak looks very lively so far, no sign of a hangover there.

He breaks free and gets himself one-on-one with the keeper but his shot is straight at Mark Flekken. He may have just strayed offside, anyway.

Good pace by Kamaldeen Sulemana to get into the box but the Southampton man can't pick out a team-mate - after getting two attempts to do so.

Pep Guardiola's assistant Juanma Lillo was shaking Ruud van Nistelrooy by the hand before kick-off.

Lillo is in charge in the dug-out as Guardiola sits in the stand as a result of the yellow cards he has received this season, the latest of which came at Bournemouth on Sunday.

I am surprised no coach has tried to experiment with it. The head coach sits in the stand in both codes of rugby.

Guardiola is with a tech specialist to make sure he can stay in communication with the bench.

Given Manchester City's start, I am not sure they need his help tonight.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is already up on his feet and on the move in his technical area. This will be a clash of two very animated touchline personalities in Emery and Brighton counterpart Fabian Hurzeler.

And the low position of Brighton's press box makes it an ideal location for a spot of managerial people watching.

Saw the dots flashing, and figured this is at least a 50% chance of a Man City goal about to pop up on this feed. This is the life for Leicester fans now.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Ipswich

Bournemouth have a free kick deep in the Ipswich half. Chance for Lewis Cook to test that Ipswich backline out.

The ball is lofted in but out comes Alex Palmer to easily gather.

Newcastle have started on fire and are going down both sides.

Either side, right and left and Sandro Tonali is flying out of midfield too. It has been a good start but don't forget, Brentford are dangerous on the break too.

    Man City 1-0 Leicester

Not many fans in the ground to witness that Jack Grealish goal.

I'm sure he enjoyed it all the same.

    Man City 1-0 Leicester

    Simon Stone

That was Jack Grealish's first Premier League goal since December 2023 against Crystal Palace.

    I think he enjoyed it.

Lovely first touch from Boubacar Kamara to draw the foul from Yasin Ayari.

Villa go short with the free kick and Ezri Konsa eventually heads straight at Bart Verbruggen.

For many years I have been wanting to say this phrase 'international, Dan Burn.'

And what a time it has been for him. He had the week from heaven, didn't he?

  12. Postpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 2 April

    Brighton 0-0 Aston Villa

It's a very jubilant Aston Villa following tonight and can you blame them?

Into the FA Cup semi-finals, the Champions League last eight and fighting for the top four once again.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 2 April

    Southampton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Palace go close to the lead in the second minute. Jean-Philippe Mateta gets the ball, turns his man and races towards goal before unleashing a screamer from 25 yards which that hits the bottom of the crossbar but doesn't bounce over the line.

    Jack Grealish (2 mins)

Well that didn't take long and what a moment for Jack Grealish!

Savinho does really well down the right-hand side to keep the ball in after some nifty footwork from Jeremy Doku and the Belgian cuts it back for Grealish who lots into the bottom corner.

A first Premier League goal for the winger since December 2023.

Southampton are looking to avoid a 10th consecutive home defeat in the Premier League tonight as they host an in-form Crystal Palace side.

The Eagles have won their last three league games and on Saturday they punched their tickets to the FA Cup semi final with that fine 3-0 victory over Fulham.

Their travelling supporters have already been belting out songs from the corner opposite me about going to Wembley.

It's been a warm day in Southampton but as the sun goes down a chilly wind is beginning to whip around the stadium.

There are still lots of empty seats that the home fans have to fill and aside from the noise the Palace fans are making, it feels a little flat atmosphere wise.

It's understandable when you consider just the two league wins Saints have had here all season.
