Ok Joe - I feel like United will get relegated next season, unless they fix their goalkeeper and their three centre backs and their central midfields and their left wing and their goalscoring issues

It's not just Rodri missing though, look at the starting XI from the run in to the Treble season. Of the first-choice back six, all of them - Ederson, Ake, Akanji, Stones, Dias and Rodri have missed more than 50% of games through injury. Add in Haaland's injuries, De Bruyne's struggles and it's hardly surprising City's levels are lower. It's been kids, players out of position and players in their 30s not getting a rest filling in two or three times a week. The upturn in form is down to Marmoush and Nico Gonzalez finding their feet, after January transfers O'Reilly's switch to full-back (he's still a right-sided forward player at left-back) and De Bruyne's availability.

    Cheers Mark.

Don't want to sound like a secondary school teacher, but....

How about we all try to include something constructive when we give feedback?

So we could say "I feel like United will get relegated next season, unless they fix their goalscoring issues."

    Gosh, that sounds all wrong.

But, I do want us to get talking about what every club needs to improve.

City's worst season in a very long time, and only Liverpool truly cashed in. Arsenal, 2nd, City 3rd, then a real toss up - but I'm going for Forest and Newcastle to complete the top five. Same top three next year as well by a bigger margin. Utd to get relegated and sack another manager next season.

Right, I am going to hand back to Joe now as we switch from Aston Villa now to assess some of the issues affecting the other contenders for Champions League qualification.

Let's quickly return to Manchester City before having another look at Nottingham Forest, Newcastle and Chelsea...

Remember Arsenal fans, we are coming to you later, when we build up to tonight's game at home to Crystal Palace.

  8. Emery's Europa League winspublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 23 April

Unai Emery has won the Europa League a record four times, including three back-to-back wins during his time as manager of Sevilla.

He also reached the final with Arsenal in 2019, but the Gunners were beaten 4-1 by Chelsea in Baku.

    Emery's Europa League wins:

    • Sevilla (2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16)
    • Villarreal (2020/21)
  9. The fight for the Champions League... and a trophypublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 23 April

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa came close to a dramatic comeback against Paris St. Germain in their Champions League quarter-final. They also kept in tact their unbeaten record in the competition at Villa Park.

They could still end their season with a trophy. They'll look to book their place in the FA Cup final when they take on Crystal Palace this Saturday.

Unai Emery's other focus is the fight to secure Champions League football again but even if it ends up being the Europa League, they've got a man at the helm who knows a thing or two about winning that competition.

  10. Villa's late goal woespublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 23 April

Matheus Nunes celebratesImage source, Getty Images

Despite equalising from the penalty spot at Manchester City on Tuesday, Marcus Rashford was unable to power Aston Villa to the win they needed to move back into the Champions League places.

He had already been replaced when City's Matheus Nunes hit Villa with a late sucker-punch.

Nunes' 94th-minute goal was the latest winner Villa have conceded in the Premier League since their loss to Wolves in October 2021.

But they do seem to have developed a habit of conceding late goals this season.

From the 75th minute of Premier League games, Aston Villa have won more points than they have lost, but, despite that, they've conceded 14 goals and scored 12.

Only the league's three bottom clubs - Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester - have conceded more.

We've also had a look at what the Premier League table would look like if matches started in the 90th minute. Villa would be 18th.

  11. How has Rashford been getting on?published at 12:20 British Summer Time 23 April

Since making the loan switch to Aston Villa, Marcus Rashford has scored four goals and contributed with six assists in 17 games.

He also earned a recall to the England squad for the first time since March 2024 and started against both Albania and Latvia in the recent international break, in new head coach Thomas Tuchel's first games in charge of the Three Lions.

  12. What has Emery said about Rashford?published at 12:18 British Summer Time 23 April

Marcus Rashford speaks with Unai EmeryImage source, Getty Images

"I am so happy with him," said Unai Emery after Aston Villa's 2-1 defeat by Manchester City on Tuesday.

"He is performing very well. His adaptation has been quick and his commitment to the process is really important for us and for him.

"He needs to keep going and on Saturday, hopefully he can help again."

  13. What has Amorim said about Rashford?published at 12:12 British Summer Time 23 April

In the wake of Marcus Rashford's loan move to Aston Villa, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim said: "I couldn't get Marcus to see the way you're supposed to play football and to train the way I see it."

Rashford was exiled by Amorim from the first team in December, then, aside from the home defeat at Newcastle on 30 December when he was an unused substitute, was not picked again in his matchday squad.

  14. Rashford, Villa & Man Utd all have a decision to makepublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 23 April

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter

Aston Villa's loan deal for Marcus Rashford includes a £40m option - not an obligation - to buy the England forward.

Should they decide to take up that option, Rashford will then have a decision to make.

The 27-year-old England forward will have the ultimate say whether he wants to move to Villa Park or not.

If he turns down an offer from Villa, then United will have to decide whether to keep Rashford, try to sell him or let him move away from the club on another loan deal this summer.

  15. Rashford ready to wait on Man Utd futurepublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 23 April

Marcus Rashford feels it is unlikely he will play for Manchester United again under Ruben Amorim, but will not be rushed into making a decision about his future.

Rashford scored his fourth goal since joining Aston Villa on loan in February during their 2-1 loss at Manchester City on Tuesday.

The striker's loan deal at Villa Park expires at the end of the season.

But while his United contract is due to run until 2028, and it is not completely out of the question Rashford might return, sources close to the player do not see an obvious way back into the Old Trafford fold.

  16. Villa's turnaround under Emerypublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 23 April

    Aston Villa

Unai Emery has helped to transform the fortunes of Aston Villa since his arrival, turning a squad battling to avoid relegation into a serious contender in this season's Champions League.

The standard of the squad is now the envy of many of their Premier League rivals.

Villa's business in January, such as the loan signing of experienced Spanish midfielder Marco Asensio from Paris St-Germain, has had a positive impact.

Another loan signing, Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, has also worked out well.

The England forward is now considering his options...

  17. Villa miss chance to move fifthpublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 23 April

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa are seventh, two points behind fifth-placed Newcastle having played a game more.

They missed the chance to jump into the top five at Manchester City on Tuesday night. A win at the Etihad would have taken them on to 60 points and into fifth place.
