Summary

  1. Postpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 5 October

    Norwich 2-0 Hull City

Tigers skipper Lewie Coyle is getting some treatment as we enter three minutes of time added on.

It was a pretty hefty challenge on him by Manchester City loanee Callum Doyle.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 5 October

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Referee Gavin Ward had already warned Freddie Woodman to get a move on from goal-kicks but the Preston keeper took that to mean slow down even more and move the ball a few inches to the left along the whitewash of his six-yard box.

Ward runs back to the area and brandishes a yellow card to huge cheers from the home faithful.

  3. Postpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 5 October

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford

The ball breaks for Oxford forward Mark Harris and he fires in an effort from the edge of the box but it's straight at Nicolas Schmid.

Portsmouth then win a corner at the other end but Marlon Pack's delivery is punched away by Jamie Cumming and the U's can clear.

Into three minutes of added time at the end of the first-half.

  4. Postpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 5 October

    Norwich 2-0 Hull City

Hull City are looking for a way back into this before the break.

The home side make a mess of clearing their lines and Tigers right back Lewie Coyle has a dip with his left from 25 yards out.

It flies wide but it's been better from the away side in these past 10 minutes or so.

Ali McCann will know that's the chance for him to make it two goals in two games.

  6. CLOSE!published at 13:12 British Summer Time 5 October

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Robbie Brady comes close to breaking the deadlock against his former club, a cross from the Preston left hits a defender and loops to Brady on the edge of the area to unleash a sweet first-time volley which is straight at James Trafford. A yard either side and that might have been 1-0.

The visitors go straight back on the attack moments later and another left-wing cross from Brad Potts finds Ali McCann in space in the box, only for his attempt at an acrobatic first-time effort to bounce into the ground and then over the bar with Trafford at full-stretch.

Preston have edged this, you know.

  7. Postpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 5 October

    Norwich 2-0 Hull City

    Chance for the away side!

Mohamed Belloumi comes in off the right and drifts a lovely dinked cross to the back post for Chris Bedia.

The big striker is in good form but gets this one all wrong and Norwich escape.

  8. Postpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 5 October

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford

Oxford's Mark Harris almost gets on the end of a teasing ball over the top but Pompey keeper Nicolas Schmid beats him to it.

A slight pause in play here as defender Ben Nelson is down getting treatment for the visitors.

  9. Postpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 5 October

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Luca Koleosho has just had the chance to stretch his legs a couple of times down the Burnley right in the last few minutes.

He whips in a cross which Josh Brownhill crouches to glance on with his head, only for his connection to be too faint, sending the ball skidding well wide of the far post of Freddie Woodman's goal.

Burnley are having their best spell of the game in the last five minutes here for me.

  11. Postpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 5 October

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

The home fans are already getting hot under the collar about the amount of time Preston are taking to resume play after the ball goes out of play.

It's not causing any problems with the referee yet, but it is noticeable that they are not in any rush. As well as they have started, a point away at Burnley would be a fine result for a team in their position, especially with their recent record against their rivals.

  13. 'Frustration around Fratton Park'published at 13:05 British Summer Time 5 October

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

    Dan George
    BBC Sport at Fratton Park

Oxford have played well since Portsmouth's initial phase of pressure in the opening minutes.

Tyler Goodrham minutes ago making himself a nuisance and pressing Jordan Williams and Regan Poole into making a mistake deep by their own box.

An air of frustration and nervousness now around Fratton Park, the U's starting to put more pressure on the Blues' backline.

  14. Postpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 5 October

    Norwich 2-0 Hull City

My word, the home side look like scoring every time they cross the halfway line!

Josh Sargent steams away down the right and cuts a ball back to the edge of the area for the on-rushing Anis Slimane but he sends his effort just wide of the post.

  15. Postpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 5 October

    Norwich 2-0 Hull City

Hull City had won their past three going into this.

They've got a mountain to climb now though if they're to avoid defeat at a Norwich side who are unbeaten at home since November 2023.

They win a corner down their right.

The ball is hung to the back stick for Sean McLoughlin but he can't get any real power on the header and Angus Gunn fields it with ease.

There's just a bit of frustration among the home support now.

Portsmouth's Regan Poole gives it away in the corner and Tyler Goodrham crosses for Ruben Rodrigues who slides in and steers his effort from just inside the box wide of the post.

  17. Postpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 5 October

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

    Andy Bayes

Burnley's first real attempt of the match.

Jaidon Anthony will be disappointed he's not put that in the bottom corner.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:01 British Summer Time 5 October

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Jaidon Anthony has threatened to do this a couple of times already, he feels he has the beating of Preston right-back Jordan Storey and gets in behind before opening up his body to try and find the far corner.

North End keeper Freddie Woodman knows his game and dives to his left to push the shot away.

As close as Burnley have come, mind.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:59 British Summer Time 5 October

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford

Another chance for Oxford after some great work by Idris El Mizouni who surges forward and goes clean through after the ball ricochets off a Pompey defender and back into his path.

He slots a finish towards the bottom right-hand corner but Nicolas Schmid makes a vital fingertip save to turn it behind.

The U's have certainly created the better chances since the missed penalty for Pompey.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 5 October

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Hannibal Mejbri takes the ball on the half turn and spins away from Andrew Hughes in midfield with green space ahead of him.

The Preston man can only hold on for dear life and earns himself a yellow card from Gavin Ward.
