    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Preston are mixing up their set-pieces to great effect already today.

A corner is whipped back to the edge of the area where Ben Whiteman is lurking, intent on unleashing a thunderous low effort which is blocked in a forest of legs.

If you walked into Turf Moor never having watched a Championship match you'd struggle to work out which side is top-four and which is bottom four from the opening 22 minutes of this one.

    Josh Sargent (20 mins)

    The Canaries are flying!

Wonderful approach play from the home side and Josh Sargent is there six yards out to tap in.

The home side tear the Tigers open and Borja Sainz ends up being the provider once more with a low cross from the left that leaves Sargent with the simplest of finishes.

Oxford do create another great chance and this time it falls to Ruben Rodrigues.

  10. Postpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 5 October 2024

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford

Oxford are just starting to get their foot on the ball and providing a bit of a threat.

After being pinned inside their own half for the first 10 minutes or so, the U's have managed to put together a few neat moves.

Still goalless but the game is getting into a nice groove. Will Pompey be made to pay for that early penalty miss?

  11. CLOSE!published at 12:48 British Summer Time 5 October 2024

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Really nice approach play from Preston, working the ball side to side with some one-touch passing and eventually getting a cross in from the left.

The ball is nodded down into space where Ali McCann is lurking - he managed to fire in from a similar spot against Watford in midweek but this time gets his technique all wrong and blazes over James Trafford's bar from 14 yards.

    Encouraging from the visitors, though.

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

    Dan George
    BBC Sport at Fratton Park

There's a cracking atmosphere inside Fratton Park this lunchtime.

A brilliant effort from both sets of supporters, the Oxford United fans down to my right have filled out their allocation and are making a good noise.

The home support around the ground have not stopped singing and chanting since the kick-off, the sun is even out here!

A good game and now a great goal!

A wonderful crossfield ball from right to left finds Borja Sainz in acres of space and the Spaniard looks to cut inside on to his right foot.

He can't find space for the shot though so squares for Marcelino Nunez and the Chilean sends a wonderful 20-yarder into the corner.

Tigers keeper Ivor Pandur can only stand and watch this time.

  14. Postpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 5 October 2024

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford

Tom McIntyre gives the ball away for Portsmouth and Oxford get a cross in for striker Mark Harris who is unmarked eight yards from goal, but he awkwardly hits a right-footed effort against his own left boot and it flies out for a goal-kick.

That was a great chance and Oxford's first significant opening.

  15. Postpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 5 October 2024

    Norwich 0-0 Hull City

Ivor Pandur looks to be in for a busy day in the Hull goal.

Again the home side get in behind the Tigers defence and this time the visiting goalkeeper does well to race off his line and smother Marcelino Nunez's effort.

Straigth down the other end and Liam Millar stings Angus Gunn's palms from range.

    Good match this!

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 5 October 2024

  17. Postpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 5 October 2024

    Burnley 0-0 Preston

Luca Koleosho ran the show for the Clarets in Tuesday's win over Plymouth and his side are trying to find him whenever they get the ball near the Preston half, but whenever he gets the ball at his feet he has a couple of white shirts in his face almost immediately.

The visitors have done their homework and are trying to keep the dangerman quiet.

  18. Postpublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 5 October 2024

    Norwich 0-0 Hull City

Should be 1-0 to the home side!

Borja Sainz is played in on goal after lax play in midfield by Hull.

The in-form Spaniard goes for the lob but Ivor Pandur stands up and just manages to flick it behind.

  19. Postpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 5 October 2024

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford

Connor Ogilvie clips a ball forward for Pompey but Oxford defender Sam Long slips and allows Elias Sorensen to get in behind.

Sorensen takes a poor touch, though, and he too slips as he tries to get to the byline and the chance goes to waste.

An opening 10 minutes to forget for the Dane.

  20. Postpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 5 October 2024

    Norwich 0-0 Hull City

First real foray forward from Hull nearly leads to a goal as Marvin Mehlem's low cross is turned around his own post by Shane Duffy.

Cody Drameh goes for goal from the resultant corner but, unlike Tuesday when he thumped one in against QPR, this one sails way over.
