Poppy Parade: Members of the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service marched in the walk of the Last Post ceremony at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Ypres Memorial at the Menenpoort in Ieper on Armistice Day.

Lights and colours: A procession of illuminated carts and costumed performers filled the streets of Weston-super-Mare for the return of the carnival.

The event, which dates back to 1871, is one of the well-known Somerset Guy Fawkes carnivals. The Bridgwater and Highbridge and Burnham-on-Sea carnivals have already taken place.

High Up: Eight fire crews from around the UK took part in a rope skills competition at Butlins in Minehead, climbing to the top of the tent and moving around using ropes.

Important visit: Celebrity fitness coach Joe Wicks has kept his promise and returned to celebrate the opening of a Yatton Infants School that was badly damaged in a fire in May 2023.

Following a plea for help from a teacher, Mr Wicks made a special trip to the damaged school and promised to return when it was rebuilt.
