Bristol in Pictures: Fireworks and autumn colours

Autumn colours are looking stunning on trees across the city, with the night sky illuminated by some spectacular firework displays this week.

Glowing: Thousands of people attended the Victoria Park bonfire event in south Bristol on Wednesday, with the flames matching the autumn leaves in the park.

Boycott anniversary: To celebrate the anniversary of the Bristol Bus Boycott on 8 November, a giant greetings card was unveiled at Colston plinth, thanking the pioneering individuals behind the movement.

Alternative rock: This week, Bristol Sounds announced another act for its 2026 lineup - iconic Welsh rock band, Super Furry Animals.

Autumnal colours: The trees are still looking stunning before they finally shed their leaves this year. Weather Watcher Nix-Nox captured this stunning photo of sunlit leaves.

Mud, mud, glorious mud: Volunteers got stuck in at Clevedon Marine Lake for the bi-annual cleanup. Pants, paddles, jewellery, goggles and broken glass were some of the items found during the seven hour clearing of debris and silt. Once it was filled by a high tide, swimmers could once again enjoy a dip.

Business support: The new unified Bristol Business Improvement District (BID) came into effect this week, bringing together Bristol City Centre BID, Redcliffe and Temple BID and Broadmead, to support businesses with an £18m investment over five years.

Commemoration: Aerospace Bristol is paying tribute to all of its staff who died in flying accidents. CEO, Sally Cordwell, has overseen the installation of a plaque commemorating the 42 pilots and flight test engineers who died between 1910 and the 1960s for their "courage and sacrifice".
