Jersey Bulls boss Gary Freeman says his side cannot take a place in the play-off places for granted after their 1-1 draw at home to Sandhurst Town.

Fraser Barlow's goal gave the islanders a 1-0 lead at half time, but Harvey Seeman equalised early in the second half for the visitors.

Third-placed Bulls are now seven points off second-placed Knaphill in Combined Counties Premier South.

They are seven points above Redhill in fourth, who have two games in hand.

Fifth-placed Abbey Rangers are a point further adrift, while a number of the sides further down the table have significant numbers of games in hand.

"There was talk that we had one foot in the play-offs, which I don't believe at all," Freeman told BBC Radio Jersey.

"Some teams have still got 40 points to play for, we've still got 24 to play for, so every game is going to be tough and you're going to have plenty of these all through the remainder of the season.

"It's going to be tight, there'll be a few twists and turns, but we've got to make sure we're a little better in creating chances and winning some of these tight games that we seem to be drawing a lot of."

The draw was the fourth time in the last six games that the island side has failed to win and leaves them 16 points behind leaders Farnham Town, who have won all 25 of their games and have five games in hand on the Jersey side.

"I thought the game was a little flat as a whole," Freeman added.

"Going in one up at half-time we wanted to manage it well, but starting off the second half as we did, conceding early on, has made it a difficult afternoon.

"You've got to credit the opposition, I thought their defensive shape was very good and made it tough for us, so we've got to take it on the chin and move on."
