That VAR call reminded me why I was actually quite enjoying the international break.

    Dom

VAR says Tarkowski’s tackle is a yellow, but Lewis-Skelly’s was a red against Wolves…

    Pete

Explain to me how Tarkowski didn't get a red on VAR review? That is a truly shocking tackle. Clear intent to clean the man out.

He goes half a yard early, Beto. It was not comfortable from Virgil van Dijk, he got muscled off the ball.

Everton fans' joy is short-lived but that was excellent play from Beto.

That will give David Moyes some hope.

  11. Going downpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 2 April

    Man City 2-0 Leicester

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

It has been patently obvious for some time the three promoted clubs had squads that were too weak to keep them up.

There was a chance, as with Luton last season, that organisation and a structured game plan might give them a chance but really instant relegation was likely.

What none of these teams can afford to do is gift the opposition a goal, as Mads Hermansen did then.

    It was awful goalkeeping.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 2 April

    Man City 2-0 Leicester

Jamie Vardy goes into the book for bringing down Omar Marmoush on the edge of his own penalty area.

The Leicester striker was never going to win the ball back there.

The football laws say serious foul play is "a tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play".

"Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play," it adds.

That is what the VAR check on James Tarkowski was for.

    Nathan Broadhead

    Well then!

Ipswich venture forward on a rare attack and the ball finds Nathan Broadhead in the box, he skips beyond Dean Huijsen and pokes it through the legs of Kepa.

Do we have a shock on the cards?

Incredible poor VAR decision. Potential career ending tackle. How that isn’t a straight red let alone reviewed red is a shocking joke. If Gary Neville even says it’s a red then you know it’s a red.

    Stevo, Cheltenham

Disgraceful tackle by Tarkowski. Just like Pickford tackle on Virgil that time. Disgraceful VAR review too. Typical VAR. Neville on Sky sports saying as an ex defender he can definitely say it was a clear and obvious intention to hurt Mac Allister and should be a red card.

    Jay

Tarkowski has been on one! Kneeling on Konate and now with a tackle with more violent intent than the Millwall keeper on Mateta in the FA cup. Disgusting tackle and he knew what he was doing
